I rarely write posts in #English and I only have very few followers that are not #Czech or #Slovakian, so I'm not sure if this ever reaches my target audience of this post - the #USA citizens.

I am seriously concerned about what is happening lately with your country, who was supposed to be (or was acting like) a #democracy beacon. Yet, somehow you managed to reach the point, where #president, who most of you (!) elected is felon, who pardons criminals and does pretty rude political statements to country, who is losing lives of it's citizens only because they have chosen the path of being a #free nation.

As a person from central #EU I must admit this is seriously hard to watch as I expected your society to be #freedom and #liberty friendly and yet I see your president fueling #propaganda from #Russia and bullying president of #Ukraine.

I do not think this is a great way to #StopWar - this is a way to lose it. I'm hell-of-a-sure that befriending pretty much dictator of #Russia while his propagandists talks about nuking Washington is not a good idea, but somehow your president believes it is.

Please reconsider and act, this is not funny and people are dying. Your voices need to be heard or somehow you might find out you live in country you never imagined...

Elon Musk, the self-proclaimed slasher of government waste, is pocketing a cool $8 million every single day from federal contracts. Yes, you read that right. While preaching fiscal responsibility, Musk’s companies, notably SpaceX and Tesla, are raking in taxpayer dollars like it’s a Black Friday sale.

In a recent House hearing, Rep. Greg Casar (D-TX) didn’t mince words: “How much does Elon Musk make from the government a day? $8 million.” Meanwhile, seniors on Social Security are scraping by on $65 a day. Priorities, am I right?

But wait, there’s more! Musk’s latest venture, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), is on a mission to cut federal spending. And by “cut,” we mean slashing funds for FEMA’s migrant assistance and axing diversity training programs. All while his companies continue to secure billion-dollar contracts. Talk about having your cake and eating it too.

So, as Musk and his cronies preach about tightening belts and eliminating waste, just remember where those “savings” are going. Straight into the pockets of the world’s richest man. Efficiency never looked so profitable.

I havent seen any english Articles about this so Im giving you guys the Infos on this way.

Yesterday our conservative Party (CDU) has passed a suggestion for a law about immigration, which is a plan with 5 points, with the help of the liberals (FDP) and the far right facist party (AfD). Prior to this the CDU chancellor candidate Friedrich Merz has announced, that hes willing to pass this with the support of the AfD. This marks an official end to the so called "firewall against the far right". This law includes, that immigrants who are seeking Asylum are no longer allowed to enter Germany and criminal immigrants who have to leave germany will be detained until they get deported or decide to leave germany by themselves.

The 5 points of the plan are the following:

• Permament controls at the borders of the German Federal Republic (using the emergency provision of the Schengen Borders Code), de facto ending the free movement of European Citizens;
• Blocking the access to the country to anyone not possessing adequate documentation (making it near impossible to come and request asylum);
• Immediate sequestration of anyone required to leave the German soil, ordering the creation of special detention camps to keep up with the induced demand;
• Request of active participation of the Bundesländer (regions) with information regarding the financing and support to create detention camps;
  
  • Tightening of the right of residence for offenders and dangerous persons: Offenders and dangerous persons who are obliged to leave the country should remain in an indefinite detention until they return to their home country voluntarily or their deportation can be carried out.

  
  

This law is probably illegal (its against our constitution). On Friday it is likely that more laws will be passed with the support of the AfD. The pro putin party (BSW) has also announced, that they are willing to support the laws.

Tl;dr: We are fucked.

Edit: it isnt a law that has been passed, but a suggestion. However, since the CDU and the AfD are about to be the two major parties it is likely that it will be turned into a law after the election.

What happened to Greta Thunberg?

As Greta’s politics have grown and evolved, they reached a point where they now make billionaire media owners, milquetoast executives of major non-profits, and more than a few politicians a little uncomfortable. All she’s done is follow the science, but over time the science has led her to see that the climate crisis doesn’t exist in a vacuum. There are massive monetary incentives to destroy the planet in this capitalist system.

ExxonMobil, Chevron, Shell, and BP made over $100 billion in profits in 2023 alone. In following the science, Greta had to start examining the capitalist system if she wanted to get down to the root of the climate crisis.

But Greta kept going. When she published The Climate Book in 2022, the then 19-year-old activist had some words for the entire system we live under today:

"We are never going back to normal again because ‘normal’ was already a crisis. What we refer to as normal is an extreme system built on the exploitation of people and the planet. It is a system defined by colonialism, imperialism, oppression and genocide by the Global North to accumulate wealth that still shapes our current world order.”

That was two years ago, and it’s no surprise she hasn’t been given the spotlight nearly as often since. In fact, in the wake of that book launch, she’s been the subject of countless hit pieces, and her Palestine solidarity activism has been denigrated as well.

Greta went from a cute kid saying that climate change is bad to a young adult rightly charging global systems with not only fueling the climate crisis but also being oppressive and grossly harmful to life in numerous other ways. And, perhaps most importantly, she sees these systems as interconnected and knows that radical change is necessary for the future of life on this planet.
