Mondrian Crescent

I love it when train doors align at the end of a tunnel. The red tiles at Green Park station make this the ideal location to capture this moment.

It wasn't luck though, instead I froze the moving train with a fast shutter. It took ages to get it centred.

This final image resembles an abstract art painting by Piet Mondrian.

The people in the neighborhood wanted a bridge over the creek. The city had no funding for #PedestrianInfrastructure for something like that. But they did get an #art grant, so they hired an artist to create an art installation that would span the creek that people could walk on. I frequently walk my dogs along this creek and yes, over the bridge sometimes.

“Mohawk fiber artist Carla Hemlock uses medium and subject matter to upset viewers’ expectations and engage them in critical discourse regarding Native North American women’s histories and contemporary lives,” McLerran said. “Hemlock’s quilts may be seen as simple bed coverings bearing innocuous representations of animals and plants, or they may be read as political statements regarding environmental justice, tribal sovereignty and the ways in which settler colonialism has promulgated violence against indigenous women.”

Turtle Island is the name given to North America by many indigenous peoples.

Strangely, when you have launched a Kickstarter all you can do is wait and occasionally pester people... and then there's a lot of time for other things, so today I made this angry fantasy crab.

For the left side legs I used a cc-by photo by Simon Matzinger. I have redrawn them a fair bit, but they are still there somewhere underneath.

As my old Disapora pod which hosted this free culture project got closed I am posting my art here. You can see it using the #katharsisdrill and #darkkatharsisdrill tags.
