Panel 1. The adventurer and pink fairy sit on an old wooden bench in a city square, under the sunset light. The adventurer looks guilty while the fairy sits with crossed arms, furious and turned away from him.
> Adventurer: "Okay, okay... I spent ALL our gold on that dagger. It wasn't loot. I'm sorry." Panel 3. The adventurer feels sincerely sorry and sad while watching in his hand the purple epic dagger. The pink fairy watches him with wide eyes, pleasantly surprised.
> Adventurer: "You can't, but give me one chance: I'll sell the dagger and get our gold back."
> Pink fairy: "...Really?"
Panel 2. The Pink Fairy turns back, angry:
> Pink fairy: "And how can I ever trust you after THAT?!" Panel 4. Inside the shop, the adventurer places the purple epic dagger on the counter. The merchant pushes a single coin across toward them. Both the adventurer and pink fairy stare in disbelief.
> Merchant: "I can buy it back for... one gold coin."

There was a little bug on MakerTube but I was finally able to upload the 5th episode of Nimbus & Campanule.

Taking a selfie's not easy when you have short arms (and a big nose but don't say that to Nimbus' face!).

The Dungeon of Dark Patterns

Sources and bonus timelapse: https://www.peppercarrot.com/en/miniFantasyTheater/049.html

Panel 1. The adventurer and his fairy are in front of the door of a nightmarish dungeon, it's dark, foggy, and the inside the door we can't see anything except a deep red light.
> Dungeon: "Welcome adventurers, to the Dungeon of Dark Patterns!" Panel 3. The aventurer is now putting some effort climbing on an old rope in the middle of a room with a beautiful luxuous stairway with a red carpet on the side. A sign tells "GO TO THE TREASURE but pass by the trap" in direction of the beautiful stairs; and "(other options)" in small and in the shadow in direction of the rope.
> Dungeon: "Impressive!"
Panel 2. In one room of the dungeon, a giant beautiful and inviting door with a red carpet, and on the side, in the shadow a too little door. Writing on big door: Go to the trap, on small door: Go to the treasure. The adventurer crouch and do a little sign to the fairy to follow him to the little door.
> Dungeon: "Ha ha, you're good!" Panel 4. Top down view on the adventurers shrugging in front of the fairy, they reached a dead end. A short path on the right has on the ground the word "Now", and a longer path "Later". Both lead to a giant pool of green acid where bones and skulls are floating.
> Dungeon: "So, when do you want to jump to the trap?"

New episode of Nimbus & Campanule on MakerTube!

I can't believe this series is from 2022.
It seems like a century ago with so many things happening both in my life and *gesture vaguely at everything*.

And you get to see me before my coming out, cross-dressing for the 1st time.
But "it's just because it's funnier with a male character."
Sure.

Under the 1st Trump presidency I can't say I felt great.

I needed some feelgood stuff and lo and behold! Nimbus and Campanule landed in my backyard!

They're actually the ones who helped me coming out as a trans person since I was "acting" as a man in the videos.

"Nimbus & Campanule" had no success on traditional video platforms but I hope PeerTube will help spread some of their joy. :heart_sp_pride:

Ilustré a mi gato, Felipe, a partir de una foto.
Usé mi tableta #wacom y el programa #krita (de código abierto y gratuito).
Aún estoy aprendiendo a usar ambas herramientas 😀

Pepper & Carrot, Episode 39: "The Tavern" is finally out!

This 11-page webcomic is a standalone episode that you can read in five minutes. It's about courage and an experiment with sound in the comic medium. Translations are already available. We've got English, Français, Deutsch, Español, 中文, Nynorsk, and Toki Pona, thanks to some great contributors. And a big thank you to my 1106 supporters for giving me the time to create this one.

A digital painting in the fantasy comic book style of a village courtyard, the large village gate, a square with a fountain, children playing, a large inn with a tavern keeper cleaning tables in the sunshine, merchants and their customers all around. The atmosphere is sunny and positive. The characters Pepper, Carrot, and Cayenne enter through the gate. This is a panel of the episode.

Keeper of Forbidden Knowledge

This week I’m posting a special comic! It's an adaptation of a fantasy #microfiction by @vanellopemint . Source: https://mastodon.art/@vanellopemint/115412361427671211 (edit: fixed a typo on a speech-bubble)

A short comic strip in four panels:

Panel 1. In a dark throne room, King Konstad sits surrounded by his guards and large statues. Kneeling before him is the High Wizard Albrus.
> High wizard Albrus: Fear not. All of the books which you have asked to be destroyed, I have taken care of them personally.
> King Konstad: Well done, Albrus!

Panel 2. Albrus rises and leaves the throne room, followed by his wizard assistant who was waiting outside.

Panel 3. As they walk away from the castle, getting outside, the assistant speaks with surprise and curiosity.
> Albrus’s Assistant: But you did not destroy those books. You merely gave them to the Witch of the North.

Panel 4. Further from the castle, on the bridge, under the day light, Albrus reveals his philosophy.
> High wizard Albrus: Konstad is my King, but kings come and go, and knowledge is my god...

Just updated my production report for the upcoming Pepper & Carrot episode (the longer comic series I’m brewing in the background). A blog post with behind-the-scenes screenshots and process notes.

A Krita screenshot, a digital painting Free/Libre and Open Source application, with on the canvas a blue sketch on the left, and a inked in deep red on the right. The scene represents a minotaur talking to a hyena colleague. A Krita screenshot with on the canvas two comics pages: on the left, a group of anthropomorphic animals enter a tavern, and Pepper (a young witch) is upset at their behavior. On right Pepper argue with Cayenne, her master.
A Krita screenshot with on the canvas a scene pre colored (sketchy) of a montage where Pepper sing like a bard with a luth and a hat. A Krita screenshot with on the canvas the detailing of a panel showing a cute fantasy village. It's market day, children are running around Pepper and Cayenne, a fountain, birds, sun light.

Don't get too excited, because this is a prototype (by Timothée Giet) and isn't connected to #krita itself. But... You can get a feel of the way the workflow goes. I was really satisfied playing with it on my phone.

Krita common issues and how to solve them

There are many traps in Krita, especially for beginners. Often it's about features that are activated with a keyboard shortcut or a hidden button and change the mode of everything, but without having any feedback about this change in the interface. This video covers 5 of the most common ones in my opinion.
