Important decisions about Misskey(Project)
- I(Syuilo) don't accept any issue and pull request to Misskey(Git Repository: https://github.com/misskey-dev/misskey) for an indefinite period of time.
- Due to a reason above,I remove all collaborators from Misskey.Beacuse they still can make a issue and pull request.
-If you have a question and need a help about Misskey,please use Misskey Forum(https://forum.misskey.io/).
- I am only going to develop Misskey. But I may consider of stopping a development of Misskey indefinitely under the certin circumstances.
- If the project could raise a enough fund to continue the development and I can concentrate the project development,I will accept your contribution again.
- I continuousely accept your contribution for mfm.js , misskey.js and so on. These side projects are relatively small and I could continue to handle.

A reason of my decisions as follows
- Lack of my ability of organizing Misskey Projcet
- We could not raise enough fund for project development.
- In relation to above, there is not enough time for me to develop the project, and delay in response to issue and pull request is expected.

Why the fediverse is so tough to earn money...

Because it's born with the idea that against big techs... That means the user base of it is VERY "tough". If you ban a person for his political views, he will let everyone to know it and give you an evil reputation, but if you don't ban some certain political views, you can't please some people to let them pay to you.

There are mentals of extreme rights and extreme lefts. If someone sees another group did something illegal on your instance, he would love to see you met FBI. Fediverse is "balance of terror". Some as child porn posters and child porn haters. The legal risk is too high. Except you open a 1 instance for yourself and few friends to use only.

A better strategy is data mining. I am not an expert of data mining, don't know it worth how much money. But if your instance is a very lack of people to use (under 1000 users posted a post), it won't be a lot of money.

Open an instance to earn big money is very unlikely, but I can still see few cases can get that little money.

@Gargron: he didn't get the money from running an instance, the reason of he got the money is that he coded #mastodon. And he found out only middle class "left" extremists would most likely to pay most money to him, therefore he want to build mastodon.social to be a echo chamber by banning people they might dislike and don't want people to think too much and @ too much by the 500 characters limit. Lead to the development of #Pleroma and #Glitch because he is too suck. But this is his biggest effort to getting money from #fediverse. I think he needs tastytea to help him point out which person should get a ban there. Of course, he won't list it with transparency. Those who get banned will do many things against him because he is the symbol of big tech now.

@alex: he can get 1000 per month is because TERFs are retards. But I don't think he will get much more than that number. He creatively found a way that builds a community that everyone is retards and ban everyone they dislike for getting donations. That gave me an image that this person is a super lack of money, so he has to do this. The disadvantage is they can't provide too much money since retards can't being really wealthy...And the reason he often being ridicule is: TERF is not a group that really support free speech- they rather trans women have no voice, this cannot form a not contradict ideology that he claims he support free speech.

@moon : The quite typical strategy is making annoying donation ads on the front page, but this is a way to keep his users to being retards... the not retarded people will find another instance without these ads. After he collected a brunch of retarded people, he used them to promote the retarded idea: 10grans, let them beg every day. It's a psychology manipulation that let them to believe that brain dead 10grans really worth something by repeatedly begging...But I don't think someone would going to give him a shit that he is somehow lost his damn mind by the chaotic administration and @colonelj started to him by his obvious scam. 10grans is a project will gone before it start to earn other currency.

#introductions Better late than never, I'm Hypolite Petovan, this isn't my official name but it is my real name for all intents and purposes. I joined the #Fediverse on #Diaspora then #Friendica late 2016 after #Facebook froze my account for using this pseudonym for 10 years straight.

My social media policy is to read absolutely everything my follows post. As a result, I heavily curate my follow list that will never grow bigger than what it is now mainly for time constraints. Additionally, I don't automatically follow back and unfollowing isn't personal, your content just doesn't fit with my social media usage, no hard feelings.

I like liberally to signify I read, enjoyed or sympathize with a post without having anything meaningful to contribute further.

I also block liberally, users and whole instances alike, the world is too big and my time is too limited to give a second chance to bigots, racists, misogynists and transphobes (including TERFs). I host my own single-user node which makes any moderation decision easy.

My own editorial line is mainly about good-natured humor and social justice. Tone-wise, I do not mind aggressiveness but I do mind who it is targeted at. I do not tolerate edgy shitpost, and neither bad faith nor logical fallacies no matter how soft-spoken they are.

My personal interests revolve around #programming (mainly #PHP for #Friendica ), #videogames and recently #LEGO, but I'm curious about everything and have trouble specializing in anything and don't follow the latest news for any specific topic.

Back in the old days before I became software developer, I used to be a plumber, one thing I learned back then is to like the idea of connecting simple, semi-independent components into one large network.

As both political activist and free software user, I'm not total stranger to the concept of Fediverse.

the #Fediverse is design to respect your #freedom and #privacy. this is more then just service provider being nice, this is ensured by free software, open standards and the decentralized nature of the network. together it comes to your data being yours. the freedom to publish your content or to keep it private, is the core of online freedom of speech and privacy.

No wonder, therefor, that when I decided to start a blog, my first step was to explore the #Fediverse and it's different platforms (social networks, file hosting, microbloging) to find a platform suitable for writing and sharing with others, independent of any centralist corporate network (such as Facebook or Twitter) and at the same time easily distributed on such networks.

In the case of a blog, privacy is a lesser issue, and the top priority is freedom, not being subject to censorship, thanks to the basic fact that you can be banned from a server but it's almost imposible to ban you from the whole network.
when choosing a platform that respects your freedom, a strong case that comes to mind is the case censorship of #Layla Khaled by Zoom, Facebook and Youtube (thanks to @cbug@venera.social).

the result, maybe temporary result, is using
Plume. a blog engine written in #rust. it does have problems, but that is for another post.
the federated design of the #Fediverse lets me "boost" (like retweet) this in my @bhyoram@mastodon.social account, which in turn is piped to my twitter.

I may dive into #Plume source code one day, to help improving my ecosystem, it's more fun then maintaining "friends" in the big book of no faces.

I am wondering, why so few people use #Friendica. I personally started out on #Mastodon, but soon already moved on to Friendica, as it simply gives a huge extra load of features: compatible with all Fediverse #protocols (even #Diaspora), excellent feed reader functionality (in combination with #Nitter, #Bibliogram and #Invidious I get a feed from all my important #Twitter, #Instagram and #Youtube contacts directly in my Friendica timeline, without having an account on any of those commercial platforms), native Twitter bridge support (which I personally don't use), longer posts, a lot of extra #socialNetworking functionality like #forums, #events, #friendship, etc.

I do admit, that Friendica's #UI is much less modern and dynamic than Mastodon's, but this is the only downside I've found so far, and I'm also surprised, that no new UI has appeared within the last years, which would mitigate that.

I'd appreciate your views on that, and would be happy to hear other reasons for the fact that according to https://the-federation.info/, Mastodon currently has 440,713 monthly active users, while Friendica only has 1,770... 😀
