Are there any first reactions regarding the Online Safety Act in the UK and the Fediverse? I can imagine that this will have an enormous impact with shut downs or unreachable server in the UK.

Ich bekomme von daher sehr merkwürdige direkt platzierte Werbeposts "Ich bin XYZ du kannst mich so und so nennen, Ich bin XXY altm, zur Zeit mache ich Dingsbums ... Folge mir, du kannst mich und hier und hier finden"
Der Server selbst zeigt nicht, wer auf diesem Server aktiv ist, oder irgendwelche Posts.

🎉 Die heutige Fediverse-Sprechstunde ist zu Ende.
Ein herzliches Dankeschön geht an Tobias tobias@social.diekershoff.de für seine Ausführungen zu #Friendica ! Wir hatten eine spannende Runde mit vielseitigen Themen, die sowohl für #neuhier als auch für fortgeschrittene Nutzer interessant waren. Im Fokus standen heute Anwendungen im #Fediverse, insbesondere zu Friendica. Mein Dank gilt auch allen Teilnehmenden der Sprechstunde, die sich aktiv eingebracht und so erneut zu einer gelungenen Veranstaltung beigetragen haben.

It is a delight to see people registering to our Friendica almost daily.
And yes these are not bots. Since we "force" anyone who register to tell us why they want to be part of our network (to filter out the bots), I can tell that those who register are not garbage pieces of "AI", but real and interesting humans who are also interested in our TROM project.

Our platform is a home for anyone who wants to join, granted they don't use it to abuse others or only use it as an ad platform to promote whatever they sell. So basic decency ;).

Fediverse, I need your help!
A friend of mine is looking at ditching their Facebook page. I want to suggest them 3 Fediverse instances they would enjoy but I have no idea how to go about it myself since I never had to go through this process myself. They like TTRPG, Transformers, social justice and live in Philadelphia and I'm taking suggestions.

Interesting experience... I have not done a Friendica only presentation for some time. During the recent years it was mostly introductions to the Fediverse or more topic orientated talks / workshops. First iteration of the slides for the Social Web Devroom at FOSDEM (Saturday 15:30 to 16h) is done 🚀
Are there any #OpenSource services that would allow me to cross-post on the #Fediverse and on #Bluesky without creating a dummy account (as #Bridgy does)?
Ideally, I’m thinking about a client that supports both the #MastodonAPI and the #BlueskyAPI.
As someone who is totally blind, the Fediverse is the only place where I have ever been able to follow people such as photographers, artists, or even those who post pictures of their cats or the food they ate. The reason is that most of them use alt text. They take the time to describe the images that my screen reader can't recognise. Some write the descriptions themselves, and others use tools such as altbot. Some worry that their descriptions aren't good enough, especially when they are new at this. Let me assure you, not only are they good enough, they are extremely appreciated! If the rest of the world thought as you did, it would be a much better place. Don't hesitate to ask if you're unsure of something, but never think that we don't notice your effort.
