Deleting posts
Hello !Friendica Support,

Shouldn't the deletion of posts also be federated?

  • I wrote a test post on instance A,
  • It arrived on instance B.
  • Now I have deleted it on instance A.
  • Now it should be deleted on instance B as well.


Both are Friendica instances. However, it is a calendar entry, but also deleting events should be federated after all.

Kann es sein das von Friendica aus die Federierung zu und von Diaspora wesentlich schneller als zu und von ActivityPub ist? Ich hatte jetzt schon mehrmals den Fall das ich auf Diaspora nach kürzester Zeit Reaktionen auf meine Beiträge bekam, während Reaktionen von anderen via ActivityPub verbundenen Servern erst ein gutes Stück später Reaktionen eintrödelten.

But to be honest, there are some significant challenges.

First, I don't think I can keep it going on my own, full-time. I have a career and I don't intend to be a rockstar like @dansup or in the news like @Gargron. If #Pinetta is going to happen, it needs a community.

Second, that community needs to be switched on to the realities I mentioned, and ready to tackle things like #ContentModeration, #Federation, and the rapidly changing landscape of decentralized social networks.

There's a new movement in the Fediverse. It's called UFoI and it's one that has been motivating quite a lot of stir!

Some agree and try to help, try to build something that might indeed be necessary: a means to stop bad players to block instances trough the propagation of lies.

Others prefer to criticise without helping in any way and based, again, on lies.

You are all invited to join! You can change what you thing is wrong! You can help everyone building a better Fediverse, one based on facts and truth! A more democratic one! That's the main goal of UFoI!

Have you read anything at all? You know, you can join and leave at any time! You can contribute! And you can disagree! And block anyone if you see fit! That's what freedom stands for and that's what the UFoI stands for!

Try, for a change, to build something positive like the founders of The Fediverse have been doing since 2008!

@Le Général Midi Non, pas du tout, le #Fedivers (basé sur ActivityPub) et la #Fédération (basée sur Diaspora) sont deux réseaux incompatibles entre eux. Une poignée de plate-formes supporte les deux protocoles (Friendica et Hubzilla en tête) mais cela conduit à des discussions fragmentées où les utilisateurs de Diaspora ne peuvent voir que les réponses Friendica aux comptes Mastodon, et vice-versa.

If I use the bbc element "abstract", I can simulate the content warning for Mastodon. But this only works for text. If it is a post with an image, the image is not hidden. With Mastodon the image is hidden for CW posts and marked with a NSFW warning. Is there any way I can simulate this on Friendica?

I think there is a federation problem with posts that contain more than one image. On Friendica and Diaspora all images are visible, on Mastodon (and in apps like Tusky) only one image is visible.

I just realized that on my Friendica account I have 659 #Fediverse / #Federation followers, while I only have 114 #Twitter followers, despite the latter network having way more users and cross-posting to and from each other.

This just shows that network total size just isn't a relevant metrics when choosing a social media platform.

Today is #Fediverse12, the 12th birthday of the first post published on the #Fediverse by @Evan Prodromou on #Identica.

Back in late 2016 I'm glad the #Fediverse (comprising OStatus/ActivityPub-compatible social networks) and the #Federation (comprising Diaspora-compatible social networks) welcomed me when my #Facebook account was frozen and I was (and still am) too stubborn to give in to their demand to give me back access to it.

I've been contributing to #Friendica ever since, mostly through dogfooding through my own single-user node.

Happy Birthday to us and thank you to everyone who has contributed or still is contributing to this mind-boggling common project.

Hallo Zusammen, ich mal wieder mit den Verzögerungen bei der Federation. Im Bild seht Ihr einen Beitrag der ca. eine Woche gebraucht hat um zu mir zu kommen. In der Zeitleiste standen über und unter diesem Beitrag jeweils Beiträge vom selben Diaspora-Account die es innerhalb weniger Minuten zu mir geschafft haben.

Wo liegt das Problem? Kann ich daran etwas ändern? Evtl. auf Adminebene?

Frage an !Friendica Support

Hallo, ich habe eben den Fall das ich von den Beiträgen eines einzelnen Kontakts den ich aber schon länger habe gerade überrollt werde. Da sind bestimmt 40 Beiträge in meiner Zeitleiste die in den letzten 60 Minuten hinzugefügt wurden, die der Kontakt aber in den letzten Wochen erstellt hat. Natürlich nicht mehr in der Ursprünglichen Reihenfolge. Der Kontakt sitzt dabei auf einen Diaspora Pod. Ist schon ziemlich auffällig.

ich versuche gerade meine Beiträge über Friendica-Foren und mit entsprechender Rechtevergabe ein wenig zu kanalisieren. Dabei ist mir wieder einmal aufgefallen das diese Beiträge unter Diaspora alles andere als toll aussehen. Ich weiß nun nicht wo genau das Problem liegt. Bei Friendica, bei Diaspora, bei der Federation? Keine Ahnung.

Hat da einer von Euch einen Rat bzw. sogar eine Lösung?
