In a wold where everyone is tired, the easiest is to fall asleep.
Stay sharp and alert people! It is hard, but it may be even harder to wake up from a deep sleep.

Sure, not many people get to read the books I wrote, or use the tools I made, or watch the videos I created. But I do these for me first, and the rest second. That's how I keep myself from not sleeping. Is not easy, but what's the alternative!?
I think if I lived 678 years I would never get bored and I would have new projects to do all the time. I feel like I want to do a lot. And I do a lot every day, but the days are too short for my motivation and drive. The weeks, the months, are flying by so fast. The years, still more ahead than behind, but soon they will balance, and then you'll ride the ones ahead. But it's all about making the best of this ride, even tho too short.
This year we have a motorhome, very little money, and a lot of plans.

We have updated our Peertube to version 7! Lots of cool stuff - read more here.
But the most important for us is the visual aspect. Now we are using the main and default and much improved Peertube themes (Dark/Light) with very very minimal changes (maybe 5 lines of CSS).
No more broken UI, no more being unable to have a proper dark theme, no headaches with every Peertube updated. They have made an awesome theme and we will go with that.
We need to promote this platform more often and I ask people to try and be a bit more brave ;) and prioritize Peertube. Post there like we do. Sure you may get less views, but you are growing a trade-free (saner) platform, and thus saner minds that do not have to be exposed to the tsunami of ads that Youtube infects every viewer with.

For example we need to put a satellite dish (a Starlink Mini) so that I can keep our servers updated, do backups, upload our TROMjaro ISOs from the middle of nowhere, and in general be available online to help with the TROM projects. We need it specifically for my work on TROM.

I hate that they are putting satellites into the orbit, but we have no better option in Europe. The monthly fee of 72 Euros is also gigantic for us, but again I need an unlimited Internet access...

In essence I think that the human society has dug its own grave so deep, it is likely we cannot save it from a total failure. We are already seeing some motorhomes 😁 - they are very expensive for our budget, but we will buy one, one way or another. Move there, call it TROMhome, travel, make videos, continue the work on TROM, meet more people, go to events, spread the word.
I will also do a donation campaign for the motorhome in case anyone wants to help out 😁. Mind you we do a lot of free stuff so any help to buy a motorhome, is a help to allow us to maintain these projects and do more of them.

For the past few days we managed to trigger the auto-transcription for thousands of our peertube videos https://videos.trom.tf - All of our TROMcasts, our TROM documentary snippets, all of our videos indeed and all of the VideoNeat trailers now have an English caption. While it is not perfect, it is impressively accurate considering that it is automated. @PeerTube is a real alternative to Youtube, in all regards.
Every new video that is going to be uploaded to our Peertube will have a caption from now on.

Improvements for TROM.tf :
Our TROM Social first page (login) is not anymore just an empty page with a simple login, it provides you a peek into the fediverse:
Now you can see what's going on on the network, maybe to convince you to join 😀. It took a lot of CSS and HMTL gymnastics to achieve this. From my tests on desktop with mobile emulators all looks good on mobile, but for some reason when I check it on my phone it does not look as it should....I shall investigate.
Implemented some dark toggles for some of our services, where it was doable, such as Call
Search
Speed
And made our TROM Call, Jitsi Meet, more reliable.
Lastly we spent many days trying to figure out how to make our Peertube Live work better. Hours of tests, lots of logs. Hopefully we can make it more reliable.

A big thank you to the anonymous donor who sent 500 Euros for @Rokosun to buy a laptop. Roko has been helping with our TROM projects for a while now. TROMjaro would not be possible the way it is now without him. He is the one coding our layout and theme switchers and a lot more.
Roko got TROM's "legacy" laptop a year ago 😀 but unfortunately the motherboard died 🙁. So he ended up using an old laptop that barely worked. He could barely test stuff for TROMjaro. So he really needed a good machine.
Now he will buy one and will be able to more easily help with the TROM project. We have a lot of plans! Follow us on the fediverse ;)
After many months we are bringing back our TROM.tf Search! https://search.trom.tf/ thanks to Danny!
But with a twist. Instead of hosting a SearX instance we are using a script that checks the best and most reliable instances and uses them randomly for every search. It is a meta-search engine. This way we make sure it is reliable and our IP will never get blocked by google and the rest.
For those who do not know, SearX is itself a sort of meta-search engine, pulling results from google, DDG, yahoo and more, removing the ads and trackers, and basically allowing you to search without those viruses.
So, we are finally back!
To add it to Firefox simply right click the URL after the page loads, and then add the TROM Search as a search engine. From Firefox's settings make sure you select it to be as default for your browser.
