Digital Painting Timelapse: The Blue Crystal
A video timelapse without audio of the illustration "The Blue Crystal". Painted using Krita on GNU/Linux and recorded with the built in Recorder feature. Completion time not known exactly, probably around 9h.Touhoppai Tube
I continue my drawing training and sometimes I push the rendering of a test and finalize it, like in this one.
I'm using almost no ref' to train my ability to predict color and light by imagination. Among my new skill, I'm now more confident at drawing and designing men. I can also better predict overexposed light areas and strong sunlight. It feels great to do progress.

Strangely, when you have launched a Kickstarter all you can do is wait and occasionally pester people... and then there's a lot of time for other things, so today I made this angry fantasy crab.
For the left side legs I used a cc-by photo by Simon Matzinger. I have redrawn them a fair bit, but they are still there somewhere underneath.

The Spire of FET
Right now I create at leat one digital painting a day. Before February is over I will have more than 400 artworks on my website (https://katharsisdrill.art/art/). Sometimes I wonder what the fuck I am doing, and how I can benefit myself (beyond the sheer joy of sharing :) I don't know to be honest, and right now I just work like a madman to trip out and get away.
Yesterevening I made this one which is the last part of a small series of science fiction paintings that could easily be found on sci-fi paperbacks from the eighties and ahead. It is called: βThe Spire of FETβ. I sure got to use the line tool in Krita.

As with most creations - painting, drawing, writing, poetry nothing is ever finished, but abandoned. This one's time has come...maybe...maybe a touch here or there...or...maybe not....
