There was no reason for it. And, when I sent them an email asking respectfully for an explanation, for concrete reasons for the blocking, I received none! No reply whatsoever! I don't know what I wrote that lead to that decision! My values are christian, human and I respect every single line of the Human rights Chart.

I won't be wasting my time trying to convince you of anything, nor do I need that! There's no room for that in my life, which is dedicated to be a better husband, father, citizen and teacher, every single day. That's where I'm going to apply my energy.

A Crazy impromptu

Why not creating something like a “World #Fediverse Forum” in #Sanremo during the next edition of @scambi in August #2023?

It could be a great unprecedented opportunity to finally create an event that is not for nerds only, not it is an event about tech, but at the same time it addresses social problems of today’s #internet from a #social and #political perspective.

Also, #Italy is a difficult country in terms of ethical tech awareness, #FreeSoftware, and actually in any term, recently: it would be quite significant.

We are already in touch with @internetarchive and @wikimediaitalia… I believe it is a great start to build something important, but especially necessary.

I know there is #DWebCamp already, but it is an event for technologists. We do not want this to be a techies’ fight, but rather a social one! We would mobilize Italian community centers, too.

Let me start with a concrete, question: Are there any efforts / plans to support the upload of videos?

And now, since I might have your attention, allow me to broaden the question to:

What is your opinion regarding "what #Friendica is / should be"?

My view / vision is heading slightly in the direction that nowadays image and video content is quite central in social networks and thus a #Fediverse application like friendica should support the multimedia aspect a bit more, if it wants to be attractive for the broad public in terms of being an alternative to commercial social networks.

Most of you might tell: "Yeah, if one prefers media centric Fediverse, then check out #pixelfed ". But I think, pixelfed is yet too much of an Instagram clone, only providing the image / video focus (which bothered me at Instagram from the very beginning not being able to have good commenting / discussion options there).

In my view, Friendica has great potential becoming a great "one fits all" application for the majority of people who like social media and the concept of the Fediverse. It has way more cool functions than #mastodon / pixelfed (which are in my opinion too close copies of Instagram and Twitter, respectively) but much simpler and convenient than Hubzilla (which I think is really great, for a computer science person, but not for the broad non-technical focussed public)

Wrapping it up: I would love to see a Friendica development towards an easier multimedia support. What are your thoughts?

im Fediverse tummeln sich ja ein Haufen Menschen. Ein unglaubliches Wissen, könnte man da anzapfen. Aber: wie stellt man seine Fragen an diese vielen User, die man selbst gar nicht kennt? Einfach nur den eigenen Beitrag/Frage gut mit Hashtags ausstatten, ist so alleine vielleicht nicht zielführend, oder? Wenn ich mir so ansehe, was im globalen Stream des Fediverse los ist, dann wird da eine Frage schneller untergehen als man "piep" sagen kann.

Das wäre so, wie wenn ich mich in New York, London, Paris, ... im dichtesten und eiligsten Gedränge auf einem Bahnhof hinstelle und laut in die Halle frage, ob mir hier irgendwer einen Tipp geben kann, wie man dieses oder jenes macht ...

Da scheint es mir sinnvoller, jemanden direkt anzusprechen. Aber, wenn man keinen kennt? Und wenn, vielleicht hat derjenige dann gerade gar keine Zeit oder weiß die Antwort nicht und ein anderer wäre in diesem Moment der bessere Ansprechpartner. Eine breitere Streuung scheint mir nicht ganz verkehrt. Aber wie geht man da vor?
