The only other explanation I can think of is having a Bitcoin miner installed called System Idle Process.

I don't know when was the last time I heard the fan was stopped, not in the past few days. (Yes, I tried to turn it off and on again.)

Da sind wir doch schon mal einen großen Schritt weiter: Wenn #NoScript deaktiviert ist, dann tritt das Problem tatsächlich nicht auf!
Vielen Dank für den Tipp.

Aber NoScript ist auf den anderen Clients ebenfalls aktiv, und dort tritt das Problem nicht auf.

Jetzt gilt es wohl, die Unterschiede raus zu finden.
