Many years ago a photographer loaned this cheap adapter to me, and I haven't given it back yet. When you pair it with a 20mm lens you get nearly a 180° FoV, which was a lot of fun back before the pandemic. I changed to mirrorless, and never got around to buying the cheap adapter to get it to fit to my new 20mm lens until now. I'm gonna try some waterfalls and flowers and see what I can do with it. #StreetPhotography #photography #fisheye #utrawide #ridonkulous

A new year-long project of photographing a large country park has begun. It's a daunting task as the area is rich in wildlife and flora, and includes several large reservoirs, so in sweltering heat I started small in one of the many meadows. Please click for full views.

A Peacock Royal (Tajuria cippus) spotted at Bukit Gombak Park, Singapore, on 10 June 2023. The hint of blue seen on the upperwing near the tail shows that this one is a male.

Have you ever seen the fork in the lake? Probably not, unless you have been to Vevey in Switzerland. It's called La Fourchette de l'Alimentarium (The Fork) in front of The Food Museum.

It's a multi-cat #caturday. These four kittens are in a butcher's shop in Essaouira, Morocco and clearly something very interesting is happening just out of frame.

Four young cats in a butcher's shop in Morocco. All that can be seen of the shop is the red-tiled and rather muddy floor, a white tiled wall and some battered blue-painted wooden doors. The cats, which are probably only a few months old, are staring intently at something just out of the picture. The smallest cat is orange, while the others are white blotched with other colors -- tabby, gray, orange and black. They all have a somewhat scruffy look.

Hi @alex - Any idea what’s happening here? I’ve noticed it happens when I make a post that gets a lot of attention from other servers. e.g. a very popular tag like #photography. Happens for a good 2/3 minutes and it goes away. Sometimes for 10 minutes. I don’t think it’s DDOS attack or a ‘Bandwidth limit exceeded’ issue as the bandwidth provided by DO is quite abundant.

I ran sudo journalctl -fu pleroma but it showed logs of the ‘current’ time and afterwards. Could there a way to view the logs of like 10 minutes ago? E.g. in the following, I want to see the logs of Apr 04 15:45:53 and not 16:03:53 (the current time) and after that. Was thinking it might help me narrow down the problem.

A small Victorian dairy farm on the estate of Keir House, Bridge of Allan.

Animal pens line either side of the room, feeding buckets used to occupy the square windows on their doors. A small tree striving in an old cattle shed. Rooted into the concrete and enough gaps to provide daylight.
A floor level window highlights the cracked plaster, an open door leads on to a gutted bathroom. The courtyard of the farm, bare trees are encircled by crumbling walls and animal sheds.

This was a mistake. I accidentally pressed the shutter while adjusting the tripod. But I like it a lot. #photography #oops #Pentax67 45mm lens #hiking #LandscapePhotography

A homeless man, probably in his late 60s with weathered skin, a white wild goatee with equally wild moustache. He is dressed in a black winter jacket, a black beanie, and his legs are covered in a black blanket while sitting cross-legged.Stuck in his left hand in his lap is a lit cigarette and a crumpled paper bag from a bakery. He's staring at his stretched out right arm where he's holding a piece of bread in his fist. A starling is feeding from that piece of bread while sitting on his sleeve. In front of the man is his begging beaker with another starling sitting on its rim, apparently staring at the bread and the first starling. To the left there are even more starlings, showing interest in the scenery.

These stunning photographs reveal the determination and resilience of a centuries-old way of life.
