I love seeing the Eastern Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly in my backyard and the local gardens.

While researching I discovered that it was designated the state butterfly in 2012 and can be found in all 100 counties.

Some years ago Moscow government decided they didn't like dandelions on city lawns and they declared war unleashing army of workers armed with grass trimmers, tractors and lawn mowers every spring trying to cut the infestation down before they give seeds.

So far I am pleased with the outcome. I like dandelions and their season is short. Soon all this cheerful yellowness will go away. But #RightNow it is their season again.

Cathedral of Blossom


Took this with my iPhone and did very little work on it. I quite like it; nothing special but a lovely memory, being surrounded by all that blossom. There was actually loads more blossom and blossom trees than you can see in this (thus my calling it a "cathedral", but only a video could show it at its best, and I'd never taken iPhone video before from an almost static position (think wheelchair) and I'm not sure about the results I got.
