Who owns your shiny new #Pixel 9 #phone? You can’t say no to #Google’s #surveillance

Source: https://cybernews.com/security/google-pixel-9-phone-beams-data-and-awaits-commands/

Every 15 minutes, #GooglePixel 9 Pro XL sends a data packet to Google. The device shares #location, email address, phone number, #network status, and other #telemetry. Even more concerning, the phone periodically attempts to download and run new code, potentially opening up #security risks...

Don't be a data cow 🐮 on Google's server farm 👎

A good differentiator whether to include a kind of #humour into a published #network product:

"If you would be uncomfortable explaining something to an auditor or judge, don't include it in the product."

Yes, but/and I also think we have to beware of what I call “topological determinism.” #Decentralized & #distributed architectures don’t necessarily, invariably or even all that frequently drive #progressive political commitments. They have other effects, and those effects may well be desirable, but just as we can’t automate the achievement of justice, we can’t design a #network #topology that in and of itself manifests the revolution.

!Friendica Support

i got a strange wirred problem with my instance, maybe it is a bug or works as designed.

First:
I organized my contact in groups ... every time one contanct in a group make an post there will be a 1, 2 or 3 in that group name.

Action:
When i klick on that group to see whats going on an the step back the number will always
be there. I thought this should be assigned for unread post?

When i click on the netwerk area in top of the page i see my complete stream an then the notification is away.

I hope this is understandable what i wrote?

How Hackers Used #Slack to Break into #EA #Games

A representative for the hackers told Motherboard in an online chat that the process started by purchasing stolen cookies being sold online for $10 and using those to gain access to a Slack channel used by EA.
...
The hackers then requested a multifactor #authentication token from EA IT support to gain access to EA's corporate #network. The representative said this was successful two times.

Once inside EA's network, the hackers found a service for EA developers for compiling games. They successfully logged in and created a virtual machine giving them more visibility into the network, and then accessed one more service and downloaded #game #source #code.
