  * nach hochladen eines Bildes muss dieses Fenster aktualisiert werden um die neuen Bilder anzuzeigen.[li] Oeffnen des neuen Bildes in einem neuen Fenster.[li] Auswahl der Editierfunktion des neuen Bildes in dem Bildfenster.[li] Einfuegen des ALTtextes in dem Bildbeschreibungsfenster.[li] Einfuegen der hashtags fuer das betreffende Bild.[li] (Sicherheits)Ueberpruefung der Zugriffsberechtigungen fuer das betreffende Bild[li] Einfuegen des neuen Bildes in dem Themen- oder Antworttext ueber die

Bildercode der eingefuegt wird wenn ein Bild das zunaechst komplett ueber die Bildergalerie hochgeladen wurde, daraufhin in der Bildergalerie bearbeitet wurde und letzten Endes im Text ueber die aus der Bildergalerie einfuegen Option in den Text eingefuegt wurde:

well well well, i have synthesised a pretty comfy workaround. the basic problem ofc remains, which is why i call this a workaround not solution.

• my daily browser is :firefoxnightly: , hence can/does use the Mozilla-created AddOn #SideView (which tbh i always misremember as being #OpenInSidebar)
• i have reverted my #Friendica Settings Display theme to the default Light [ow ow ouch, my poor eyes!]
• i have re-enabled the AO #DarkReader for this site (eyes go phew!)
• once again now, per my OP, if i access my received Friendica Notifications in the main page, Dark Reader entirely hides the momentary shading / highlighting of the applicable post... ie, most unhelpful
• however, when viewing my account in the sidebar, via Side View, the Dark Reader AO does not work, so i see only the underlying Light theme. this is usually a large disadvantage IMO of using Side View, but in this specific scenario, it is actually handy...
• if, hereafter, i open my account Notifications not any more in the main page, but in the sidebar, still being the Light theme means i now DO get to see that helpful momentary shading / highlighting of the applicable post
• yes it is blinding, but less so than the main page coz its area is much smaller, plus i am only in that sidebar view for seconds, after which i revert to its default, being #TreeStyleTab.
• so far, this new workflow seems quite good

@Friendica Support i really wish there was another option for having a dark theme in #Friendica. i would like having a multi-shade black / charcoal page, with lavender / violet accents, but so far have not found a way to achieve it (note, for many years i used to use the #Stylus AddOn, with which i created numerous custom themes for many sites, but a year ago i disabled it & others as part of my desire to begin minimising all non-essential AO attack surfaces). Though in many ways using #DarkReader for Friendica is quite good, overall i tend to eschew it being on for this site, coz it hides that handy temporary shading highlight of posts in a thread for which a Notification was received.

The small number of current dark themes offer me a rather unappealing colour choice.

The custom theme option initially excited me, til i realised, afaict, it is based on the Light theme, with no Dark theme option, so that all the dialogue boxes & dropdown menus remain eye-piercingly bright white, that hurts my eyes. The least-worst i could conjure was

inevitably then, i keep returning to the so-called Black theme, but it is... quite boring. the entire page is simply all a single "shiny" black tone, with my chosen accent relieving the monotony. compare this to the so-called Dark themes, to see the difference; they use different shades of the base colour, which is more visually appealing, creating a "panelled" effect.

@Friendica Support hello, may i pls get some help on this query about #Circles ?

i have sub-divided my list of follows & followers into several Circles. one of these is for all my followed #newsbots. i have found to my chagrin that a basic design feature of #Friendica is working against me here. atm, if i read a particular newsbot's post whilst in my "Bot" circle, then decide to quote-boost / quote-share it, with some pertinent commentary by me, it's a complete waste of time... the default Friendica permissions / visibility feature makes my resultant post "Locked", ie visible only to members of this circle, ie, a heap of bots. no actual human will ever see it.

[how] can i avoid this? how can i manually allow any/all posts / replies / boosts / shares that i do from this circle, be visible across all the fediverse?

when circles comprise actual human accounts, this baked-in Friendica privacy concept makes sense. it is however actively unhelpful, indeed plain obstructive, for the specific case of a bot circle.

The Internet is a shithole

What drained me of power over the past years is this constant fight of debullshitting the Internet experience for me and others.

You always have to use an AdBlocker, VPNs to circumvent all sort of censorship - and for that matter change the location often else you still get blocked; find proper news sources then find their RSS, add to an RSS reader, try to read locally if these websites allow you to....else go visit their bullshit websites.

Youtube is still by far the biggest, or the only in most cases, video platform. Now even with an adblocker the youtube experience sucks - they autoplay videos, insert shorts into your face, make you click things you don't want, and now insert AI generated video description for videos.. So you have to use an app for youtube that removes these piles of poop. But these apps are constantly blocked and won't work all of the time...

I don't even want to think about search which has become a pile of nonsense. Full of fake AI websites and now when pretty much all search engines introduced AI summaries...makes searching a painful experience.

Even Reddit, which can still feel like a "community" of people posting stuff from time to time, is a garbage. Full of fake posts and bots, and no way you can use RSS to follow subreddits. Login to see some content....endless scroll....all a bazaar.

I have to fight with "free" Wordpress plugins that insert ads into your dashboard, I have to block AI Summaries in searches, I have to keep Freetube up to date and often when videos do not work there, open in Youtube. I have to read my news in a semi-broken RSS reader since some cannot fetch all of the news, I have to install a custom OS on my phone then block ads there too, but now some banking apps do not work....a constant loop of poop, to protect yourself and your sanity, because everyone is there to fucking slice you open for a view, a click, a like...

Always always a fight against this destruction of the internet even tho all I fucking want is to read some reliable science news, watch some educational videos from time to time, and post some content or search for content. What the actual fuck....

I know why this is: TRADE. Same reason why the offline world is a shithole full of destruction, garbage, less nature, all about consuming and shops. This is what happens when humans have a primary goal of trading. Same online, these platforms are about trading, your attention, data, currency in return for a service. So it is a normal "enshitification" of the online too.

At least I have Friendica, Peertube, Nextcloud, Linux (TROMjaro) and the like, that allow me to still use the Internet in a sane way.

But man...such a shithole the Internet has become. I can't even imagine how "normal" people use it without adblockers, with relying on youtube, facebook, tiktok and such platforms....must be hell in the brain for these people.

I used to LOVE the Internet back in the days. It was like a park where you met interesting things and people. Now is like a metrostation full of ads and merchants, where everyone is in a rush to go somewhere else.
