Polar bears on an abandoned island
Russian underwater and wildlife photographer Dmitry Kokh took a trip of a lifetime to an abandoned meteorological station on Kolyuchin Island. This small island, located in the Chukchi Sea, is in a remote area of the Russian arctic. While humans have long since left the area, Kokh discovered that there are other creatures making themselves comfortable. Polar bears have overtaken the station, turning the old buildings into cozy homes and, from the looks of it, thriving.

Rainy Day on Lispach Lake / Journée pluvieuse sur le Lac de Lispach / Regentag am Lispach See
Lispach Lake is a small glacial lake located at an altitude of 900 m. It is partly covered by a peat bog, housing a particular fauna and flora due to the harsh and humid climatic conditions as well as the acidic environment. There is a small dam that was used to feed weaving factory and sawmills.

today Andrea et moi visited the Tausendjährige Eibe in Gutau; may not be a Yew of a thousand years but, for sure it is an old one and stands completely alone. we sat underneath her dark branches for long twice, on our way up and our way down to the nearby forest... it is a male one, was full of seeds.
