Another unexpected hitch of my server migration: I created a new private key for my new server in the local folder I share with my #NextCloud instance while it was down, Nextcloud Desktop correctly logged the file creation, but when I restored my instance, it just deleted the file during synchronization. 😕

Not thrilled that there’s no #NextCloud upgrade path between #PHP 7.4 and PHP 8.2 as I just changed #Devuan ’s major version.

This is because NextCloud refuses to upgrade more than one major version at a time, and on the upgrade path from PHP 7.4 to PHP 8.2, NextCloud version 25 supports neither of them.

Currently compiling a PHP 8.1 executable to hopefully run the version 25 upgrade console command before I move on to version 26 which supports PHP 8.2.

Side note: I am wondering how best to highlight this as a clear example of anti-competitive behavior on part of Google.

Our Yunohost hosts e-mail, #Nextcloud, other services that can be seen as "competing" (not in scale, but in function) with some Google services.

Google flagging @yunohost login pages as "deceptive" makes it considerably harder to self-host.

And it doesn't matter if it is on purpose or accidental. Google has the resources to not make such "mistakes".

@Rad Panda O ile dla autorki ankiety te dane są anonimowe o tyle dla google'a absolutnie nie są i zgodnie z ich polityką prywatności mogą być użyte np do serwowania targetowanych reklam. Dlatego zbieranie wrażliwych danych tą droga jest ZŁYM pomysłem. @LukaszD @Karolina Bielnik Chodzi o to, że książka telefoniczna na telefonie nie jest synchronizowana z żadną scentralizowaną usługą producenta - to cały czas jest opcja dostępna np w telefonie z androidem, ale prawie nikt tego nie używa bo jednak jakiś backup jest dobrą rzeczą a z kolei instalacja alternatywnych rozwiązań (typu synchro z #nextcloud) wymaga jednak pewnego technicznego "ogarnięcia". Czyli nie chodzi o to żeby żadna aplikacja nie miała dostępu do książki tel tylko o to żeby te aplikacje albo nikomu wysyłały tych danych albo żeby były pod naszą wyłączną kontrolą. I to się absolutnie da zrobić.

Nie ma reklam ale jest śledzenie. Więc rozważanie hostowania na googlach plików dla fedi uważam za podejście typu "to wasz problem, ja swój (żeby było za darmo) rozwiązałem ".
Natomiast @m0bi udostępniać pliki "jak normalny hosting" to potrafi np #nextcloud .

ja osobiście nie polecam wypełniamia jakichkolwiek ankiet zrobionych przy użyciu inwazyjnych dla prywatności narzędzi of #gafam . Jest wystarczająco wiele alternatyw choćby ankiety w #nextcloud . Natomiast co do samego celu ankiety - czy chodzi o próbę zrobienia aplikacji agregującej wydarzenia z różnych platform ? Ogólnie taki pomysł nie byłby zły ale tylko pod warunkiem że ta aplikacja nie będzie kolejną zamkniętą platformą samą w sobie. Jeżeli miałaby interfejs np do subskrypcji przez otwarte standardy: #rss, #activitypub to bym na pewno używał.

#nextcloud bubble: On my 21.04 installation, sharing folders or files doesn't seem to work, as in: Right-click folder -> select "share" -> nothing happens. Anyone ever seen this? Install lives in a shared webhosting so I have no root/terminal access.

@Michael Vogel@Olaf Ich meine, das ist auch technisch nur schwer moeglich, da dann alle Instanzen von allen anderen Instanzen die Beitraege speichern muessen. Also wird viel Traffic und Datenbank verbraucht. Wenn ich mir das so ansehe, dann toppen die Datenbank zu #Friendica und #GNUSocial alle anderen, inklusive #Nextcloud (okay viele Nutzer habe ich nicht). Und das jetzt schon mit 31G (in Adminer nur als "Size" bezeichnet).
