Strange preview in one of my posts.
After I saw the preview I edited the post, on one hand to see if the post really contained a link to the previewed page, on the other hand because it contained a misspelled word.
After editing I saw this:
The square is an empty iframe it seems:
Also something seems wrong with the cookies we use, so soon it seems these cookies will be blocked, then staying logged in will not be possible anymore... maybe...
if embedding (previews) of links is not working for you in #Friendica, no matter if #Twitter links or some other previews, you have to deactivate the Twitter addon and activate it again, this solves the problem and afterwards you get nice emedded previews for links again!

Registration on my server is open by approval. However, at the moment it is not possible not to approve the registration, because unfortunately nothing happens when I press the Deny button on the

Can someone tell my why the matrix room names are broken on Friendica, but are fine in the source post on Mastodon?
The post here on Friendica and here on Mastodon and compare the matrix room names on one the name are broken, some part is missing. Is this some strange bug?

Despite server block posts have arrived
i have blocked the server
example.de, nevertheless i receive posts from this server that contain hashtags that i follow. I think that this behavior is a #bug. When I block a server, I don't want to receive posts from it.#Friendica
My #Friendica server has about 120 user accounts that are not mine. 3 days ago I ran the Friendica Cleanup script for the first time. I changed some things in it to only notify people but don't delete any accounts.
It sent 66 notifications, meaning 66 accounts of that 120 did not login within the last 6 months. Since then on of the notified users logged in again in order to keep the account, as explained in the email.
On my server the active accounts within the last month were 15%, according to The Federation.

Post expiry and cleanup of #Friendica really has to be improved. I mean it has to be easier to set up.
My personal Friendica server (5 news accounts) currently uses about 60GB of storage, 32GB out of this is photos (items storage on disk).

I have problem with the worker in the current development branch.
First let me say I only have this problem on one of my two Friendica servers, the one with Apache, but that might not be related. The other one runs on Nginx.
I now know, that I have to either reboot or restart mariadb, restarting the deamon does not help (ie. stopping and starting it again), restarting php-fpm or httpd does also not help. At least not restarting these alone.
So what I do is:systemctl restart httpd.service php-fpm.service mariadb.service friendicadaemon.service
I confirmed that the daemon was running before by daemon.php status, also when I stopped it the returned info was Worker daemon process 471544 was killed..
As soon as I ran systemctl restart httpd.service php-fpm.service mariadb.service friendicadaemon.service I can see many worker processes, before there were none.
Any of the developers interested to get information to trouble shoot this? Let me know what to do the next time this happens or how to exclude a server problem first.
It seems that in this setup, opposed to #Nginx, I need to restart httpd, php-fpm, Mariadb and the daemon after a git pull.
I tried only php-fpm and only httpd, but that did not work. The daemon alone restarted also doesn't work.
Maybe someone has an idea about that problem?

Database Cleanup
how can I check if the database cleanup works even if I have enabled database cleanup in the settings? My Databas is growing and growing an i do not know, why.

For applications that only require basic formatting, Markdown is hands down the better candidate for the job, but I have no experience adding custom markup for Markdown so I have no idea what it would entail for us.
Security-wise, we're looking into using an HTML sanitization library so that we can precisely control what's being produced because we've had a recent report about an XSS vulnerabilty so I'm with you on that front.

About last night...
I discovered that my server ran out of memory and killed the database server process while it was performing a long-running #Friendica schema update, which corrupted the data, which prompted me to look into the daily backup I set up years ago... 1/4

Can I somehow force a refetch of all contacts data of my user or all users?
Bitte nicht als Angriff auf irgendwen hier verstehen - das Problem ist IMHO klar die fehlende Implementierung bei #Diaspora. Und #Friendica hängt da dran, weil es auch das Diaspora-Protokoll spricht.
Ich bin halt frustriert, weil ich eine fatale Entwicklung sehe, aber kaum etwas daran ändern kann. Das Fediverse zerbricht zunehmend, zumindest wird Diaspora abgehängt. Und da sind so viele gute Leute aktiv.

Yesterday when I tried to change my mailadresse for several forum accounts on one server it was NOT working on my server with the latest stable release, but it worked on the one with the current developer build.
I am not sure if the #Friendica versions matters at all.
What could be the reason? Has it to do with the kind of delegation, I might have the old delegation on one server (same mail and password) and the new delegation via the backend settings.

In develop /tmp fills up within a day, in stable it seems to be fine.
Why do we actually need to process all pictures and especially gif?
