When updating my instance, I encountered this error message:

Error 1170 occurred while updating the database BLOB/TEXT column 'url' used in key specification without a key length 

The 1469 update of the database structure failed with the following error message: Error occurred while changing the database

@Roland Hรคder Ah, thanks for that, but I'm not really seeing hard _errors_ here. It's a bit odd I guess: At first, I can only sign in to #friendica via GNUsocial, not Mastodon protocol because the OAuth client authentication doesn't seem to work with my webview for whichever reasons. Not sure whether or not this makes a difference, I have no idea whether the notifications provided via GNUSocial API are similar to / the same as those seen via Mastodon API. Maybe this is the first point to peek; my "main" issue here is that, in other Mastodon clients connected to Friendica, I also see mentions, personal messages, ... in my notification view. In #andstatus they apparently seem to pop up only in the global timeline _in some cases_ (except for notifications coming from #diaspora contacts?) and easily are lost.

Is it weird that some #ActivityPub implementations don't seem to comply with the standard as thoroughly as others? E.g., #Friendica's outboxes return no "Create" activities, listing posts directly instead. #Funkwhale returns Activity Streams objects only on GET requests with "accept" set to 'application/activity+json', but the header which is mandatory to support is 'application/ld+json; profile="https://www.w3.org/ns/activitystreams"'. Also, no implementation treats likes as discussed in the docs. #Fediverse

I can send anything to Twitter, but my own posts...
I sent my first contributions to #Twitter, using the #Friendica addon: a Quote Share of a journal RSS I follow on my Friendica node and a Twiiter #Tweet.

However, I tried in various ways (direct, quote share) to send my own post (inviting people to my Friendica instance ๐Ÿ˜‰, containing a link to http://mexico-pensante.blog). This one never arrived. Is there any filter that prevents advertising the own network, ...?

ยฟHow to "activate" the Twitter addon in Friendica?
Hi, I just installed the #Twitter addon on my #Friendica node https://mexico.pensante.blog and registered for a Twitter developer account (which was approved after some discussion..). I added the API key and secret in the #addon configuration.

But now? I cannot see any Twitter button/ menu. How can I configure what to read/post to Twitter?

i have a friendica instance with two accounts.
On my mobile i am using #tusky with #friendica - but i can only integrate one of the two accounts in the app.
One account will be integrated correctly but the other account is not functional an the app says my account is @@social.fedinet.de (so no username will be there)

So my question - is there a log file within #friendica where i can see whats happening?

#Fedilab ist nicht up-to-date was die Kompatibilitรคt mt #Friendica angeht.

Seit die Friendica ActivityPub API sich im letzten Jahr mehr an Mastodon angenรคhert hat hakt es da. Und beim aktuellen Update wurde die Mastodon Kompatibilitรคt nochmal verbessert.

Die Fedilab Entwickler wissen bescheid und das steht auf der Todo Liste.

Bis dahin hilft es vielleicht Fedilab vorzumachen, es handle sich um einen Mastodon Account. Muss ich auch erst probieren.

Bis dahin funktioniert die mobile Ansicht von Frio erstaunlich gut. Ich hab sie als "Webapp" auf den Android Screen gelegt.

And it is not only the database, but also the storage.

Is there a way to set globally the cleanup for posts and photos uploaded by users?

Just to confirm: Yes, the /removeme was very fast and complete! As well, all my posts, messages, etc. were deleted. Fortunately, I only have a few weeks working with Friendica, thus I did not lose too much information.
This gives me trust in the #protection of data and #privacy on #friendica!
@Hypolite Petovan my question was about the phpmailer you maintain; I sorted it out. Sorry, if I lost any more messages/ contact requests etc.

When I select the "Forums" account type in the Network Stream, the forums from forum.friendi.ca are not displayed to me.

I have also created a user group "Forums" with all the forums I have subscribed to, but the forums from forum.friendi.ca are not displayed here either.

@Rick [Friendica] tl;dr: Content warnings on #friendica work relatively reasy. You need to use the [abstract] and [/abstract] bbcode. The main visible text can be placed within these. Everything else should be hidden behind a CW.

Except for yourself! You can always see your own messages in clear and the text from the abstract is weirdly hidden from you.

But you can check out if the hiding feature because of the CW works by opening your post from a inkognito browser/tab or so. ;)

How is documentation maintained? There is https://github.com/friendica/friendica/tree/develop/doc and then there is https://wiki.friendi.ca

The information interlaps. E.g. https://github.com/friendica/friendica/blob/develop/doc/FAQ.md has a great client list while cvlient list on https://wiki.friendi.ca/faq/friendica#1azyfb982_h7xln57h4 (ideally the anchor links would be more descriptive) is completely outdate.

How can this be improved so there are not two locations that have to be maintained, while #friendica community is already struggling to keep up with documentation in one place.

Auch Leser, die das Fediverse nicht nutzen, kรถnnten mir meines Wissens folgen und mein Blog per Feedreader abonnieren. Ist das richtig?

Ah Ok du meinst dann direkt in #friendca integrieren - das ist eine gute Idee.
Dann erstelle ich einfach einen Fork von #friendica und baue das ein.

Ansonsten hรคtte ich mir eine eigene Monitoring Seite gebaut, welche die fรผr mich wichtigen Informationen enthรคlt. :thumbs up

wenn ich unter /admin/features bei den Erweiterten Profileinstellungen den Punkt Zeige Foren abwรคhle, sollte doch eigentlich das Foren Widget nicht mehr angezeigt werden, oder?

If I uncheck Show Forums in the Advanced Profile Settings under /admin/features, the forums widget should not be displayed anymore, right?
