Born as Julien Malland in Paris, Seth started painting graffiti in the 1990s in the city’s 20th district. Over time, he grew into a famous mural artist, using bright colors and powerful emotions to create art that speaks to people all over the world.In this post, you’ll see 32 of Seth’s most magical murals. A Creative Voyage:
Seth’s life as an artist changed in 2003 when he started a world tour. He worked with artists from different cultures and learned new ways to paint in cities around the globe. This experience led to his book “Globe Painter” (2007) and the documentary series “Les Nouveaux Explorateurs,” which was shown on Canal+. Over five years, Seth visited 15 unique places, expanding his artistic style and creativity.During these travels, Seth developed his signature style, often focusing on themes of childhood and imagination.

HOPARE about the mural: A Mysterious Subject – Immersed in her thoughts, “Trine” stands before us with a mix of melancholy and dignity. The delicate features of her face contrast remarkably with the sturdy musculature of her torso. The action is almost frozen in time. What is ultimately the subject of the mural? Is it the intricate arrangement of her long hair strands or the pensive gaze of the model? Is it the interior of a room or the introspection of the human soul? The visible or the invisible? In five days, I have interpreted one of the masterpieces from the golden age of Danish painting, Ludvig August Smith. This unique synthesis of neoclassicism and romanticism remains a mystery.

KTHR: Here’s one of my paintings of Festival EFÍMURS which I paid tribute to the sacred patron of the fishermen. It’s been an honor for me to represent this character in one of the main buildings in town. Here in L’Ametlla de Mar, Saint Peter is celebrated every year and even though the new generations aren’t very religious the tradition and the believing of this entity is still important for all the fishermen. Represented with his characteristic white beard, his two keys and the pope’s ring also known as the fishermen ring. Wearing the actual yellow suit for fishermen and with the small detail of the fishing moment painted bellow this is how I pictured Saint Peter and hope everyone likes it as much as I enjoyed painting it for my hometown.

Djoels: A few months ago, I enrolled in a sort of selection round to be able to do a mural in the Basque Country. Out of the (more than) 400 applications, 2 artists were chosen: one artist from Gran Canaria and Djoels. We were given a 13-meter-high by 8-meter-wide wall to work on. For 5 days, we were given a tour, information, and the opportunity to get to know the town. It’s a harbor town surrounded by mountains, slightly bigger than Egem but with a similar mentality. Everyone knows everyone, and stories spread quickly. People take care of each other, and history is kept alive.
Gabriel, my model, a retired kind man with a characterful gaze, stood out to me the most. He spent his life at sea, months away from home catching fish. I heard thrilling stories, including those of women and children who stayed on the mainland, fearing whether their father would return safely. Now he makes miniature boats. A true artist!
Every day, I ate fish, learned how to clean and prepare fresh fish. I walked in the harbor and then in the mountains. I tasted the food they made on the boats when they were away from home for months, sometimes with only 3 ingredients. And yet, it was delicious!
For two weeks, I lived like most people here, adopting a sort of integrated intermittent fasting, taking siestas, and enjoying pintxos (local tapas). I quickly adapted to the lifestyle here, but I still miss my home, my dog, and my loved one immensely!
I think after reading this, the work speaks for itself. Now, I just need to enjoy Bilbao a little longer, and then I’ll head back home on Saturday, towards my steak with fries and the West Flemish language.

HERA about Wild Child: Choosing a stray cat as the hero of a piece of public art is my way of attempting a balance between the existing monuments of some pompous monarchs or war generals and the real inhabitants of a place. I want the little ones, the real ones, the actual souls of the streets to be recognized. I want to pay homage to the ones who surely have fought through their fair share of struggles, and have their scars to prove it, but chose to for the most days just quietly exists, mind their business and remind us to enjoy even the uneventful days.

HERA: Because I work when I freestyle i came to the wall without a sketch and spend my time listening to what locals said about Karlstad. Every detail of this artwork was inspired by some info I came across at the spot, but also its overall theme about hospitality.
The words on the upper left side read “Sola i Karlstad” which was the nickname of one particularly friendly tavern waitress and innkeeper in the city back in the 18th century; Eva Lisa Holtz. I think it’s absolutely amazing that the city even has a statue for her. How many cities in the world can say that they consider a sunny disposition and kindness as monument-worthy traits? I just love that!
So, that and the fact that being a good host is a ton of effort, I felt like I should dedicate this mural art to everyone who uses their time on earth to nurture others. And to unite others, no matter how far apart they usually sit.
