90 Pixel Art Masterpieces: Pappas Pärlor’s Perler Bead Street Takeover
Pappas Pärlor: The Pixel Art Visionary
Pappas Pärlor, also known as Johan Karlgren, is a Swedish street artist who brings old-school video game vibes to the real world.
He uses Perler beads—small plastic beads that melt together—to create colorful, pixel-style art. His pieces feature famous characters from video games, cartoons, and pop culture, blending them into everyday places like streets and signs.
What makes his art so cool is how it surprises people. You might see Super Mario climbing out of a sewer, Pac-Man chasing ghosts on a city wall, or even Darth Vader walking across a crosswalk. His art makes people smile and look at their surroundings in a fun, new way.

I finally pulled the trigger and bought a second-hand copy of the #LEGO71411 The Mighty Bowser set. And at almost 3,000 parts, it’s a hefty chonker. On the plus side, his eyes and eyebrows are posable, for delightfully silly effects. On the minus side, without the by-bag sorting of a new set, the paper instructions have a terrible color palette and I made several color errors during the build, which made me think I was missing more parts than I actually did.
In the end, the set looks pretty close from the original #Nintendo subject and my main issue will be to find a spot in my apartment for this large and rather heavy model.
This post is for all the #Gaming folks that signed up on .social by default who are looking for a home on #Mastodon that focuses on #VideoGames, has an inclusive community, and is well moderated.
We are a gaming-focused space on Mastodon. We welcome everyone who enjoys any type of gaming - it doesn't just need to be video games. Let's build a diverse and inclusive community together!
Kiwi Farms is a murderous community that gets away with it because of the benefit of the doubt since there aren't any "physical" interactions between Kiwi Farms users and their victims. But the damage they do is real. On the #Fediverse you can block the domain kiwifarms.cc but I'm afraid there is little that can be done to thwart them beyond that.
