My #LEGO workshop is getting there with the recent addition of the #AkroMills 44 plastic drawers cabinet to sort parts by type instead of color.

Once we finished building this #LEGO #Marvel set, my 6-year old whispered to me: “I think I prefer Venom to the Spider Mech”.

With that lame of a giant robot, I would ditch Spider-Man any day of the week too. Except I wouldn't feel shame like my kid did.

A #LEGO set to build, a #DOTA2 tournament on #Twitch to watch, fruit gummies to snack on, I’ll leave the adulting to you folks for today.

This #LEGO motorized forklift #MOC is adorable on its own for anyone like me fascinated by industrial machines, but its presentation video takes the cake for me.

I used to like #LEGO Ideas.

But it was before discovering #MOC designs.

I like both #LEGO bricks and #cycling, but this is just ridiculous. Having wide enough safe bike lanes in real life is a must for a variety of reasons. Just having bike lanes in official LEGO sets is great and enough.

But having wide enough bike lanes for plastic figure who can’t bend their knees is utterly futile. LEGO isn’t about realistic proportions anyway, so if it ever makes it to an official product, it will look off just compared to roads for example.

I wouldn’t have minded the initiative if the LEGO Ideas project page was linking to a real cycling safety initiative. After all the creator is a city councilperson. But it currently doesn’t, so it looks like it’s about making LEGO bike lanes wider for the sake of it, and I’m having none of it.

Looking for StarCraft remastered sprites

So I've been looking into building a #StarCraft I Terran Battlecruiser out of #LEGO parts, but so far the existing models are either too big (5800 pieces! https://www.brickvault.toys/products/battlecruiser-star-craft) or too small (350 pieces https://www.bricklink.com/v3/studio/design.page?idModel=136668).

I may start designing one from the ground up at a scale in between these, and for that endeavor I'd like to have the highest quality reference material. I already have the low-res StarCraft I sprites from 1998, but so far I haven't been able to find the high-res StarCraft Remastered sprites.

Does anyone know where I could find them?

The missing BrickLink catalog entry I submitted for a rare #LEGO minifigure torso I found in the Toms River bin (the disappointing one for people not familiar with the naming convention yet) has finally been approved!

While building the sets reconstituted from the Piermont #LEGO bin, I built my first #Minecraft set and it's been a disappointment.

On my #LEGO budget front, I've had some significant sales, netting $390 total for just 7 sets sold mostly from the Sidewalk bin. I also recently bought yet another LEGO bin and the parts to complete the Piermont bin, so I will never break even, but my shelves are clearer.

However, I don't expect having the same kind of luck with the sets I got from the Piermont bin. They probably are too new, too Friends or too small to generate any kind of interest, but I'll still try to sell them for cheap as shelf space still won't increase.

LEGO bin update: 2nd and 3rd bin

#LEGO

Oops, I did it again. I bought yet another 30 pounds (~13.5kg) bin of unsorted #LEGO parts. This is now the third to wait for me to be sorted and guessed into sets.

This bin contains brand new unopened numbered bags, a first for me. Who stops at bag 1 of 4 of a new LEGO set?

In the Adult Fan of #LEGO (#AFOL) world, there's this concept of "dark age", a period of time after childhood when LEGOs are abandoned before being rediscovered again into adulthood.

My personal history sure fits this concept, with my dark age lasting between 1999 and 2019.

Update on my LEGO adventures and 2021 prospects

I reached that point of #COVID self-isolation insanity where my partner is encouraging me to buy the parts for this #LEGO model I want and I'm the one resisting.

Another #LEGO set #review, an unanimously positive one this time!

Sidewalk-found vintage LEGO bin final set list

Since May 2019 I've spent $2,750 in #LEGO, $1,000 for new sets, $1,750 for spare parts to complete sets from the bin of LEGOs I found on the sidewalk in June 2019. At the time I was reluctant to spend even $100 on spare parts!

I've started buying #LEGO sets again, and, well, I have stuff to say about them. We start with a mostly negative #review of the LEGO Technic 42098 Car Transporter set.

I've published my first set of instructions for a #LEGO #MOC (My Own Creation). Based on the original instructions this German creator made by taking successive pictures of the build process, I was able to digitally model the set and generate instructions.
