In the Adult Fan of #
LEGO (#
AFOL) world, there's this concept of "dark age", a period of time after childhood when LEGOs are abandoned before being rediscovered again into adulthood.
My personal history sure fits this concept, with my dark age lasting between 1999 and 2019.

•In retrospect, I wouldn’t have been able to avoid my dark age, in that time period I’ve lived in several places, some of them not even my own (college years), moved over the Atlantic, been traveling extensively, and had a kid too young to enjoy them.
My rekindling wasn’t even related to him, but to my lucky LEGO bin find. He’s currently less into them than me!

•That's why I was so glad to find out about Rebrickable, a website where amateur LEGO designers can post their creations, including a complete inventory and a digital file and/or instructions to build them. Many offer them for free, but some charge money for every instruction copy sold. They usually are higher quality, both for the model and the instructions themselves, or for higher part count designs.
