A bit of sad #truth - JIMMY KIMMEL show with Colbert Canceled
My quest to see "what's going on" with the hopeful event scheduled for live Kimmel - with Colbert - in Brooklyn in a week. Timely!
Amid calls for #truth #cancellation from the supposed enemy of #CancelCulture. The loudest voices now, screaming entirely false statistics about political murders (by far, "the Right", followed by 2 other groups, libs being the smallest). Fake #reality.
Lies repeated often enough... Anyone remember Goebbels? Remember #TrumpVirus season 1? (COVID will be gone by April, Hoax)
Speaking of...
There's a big (already planned) event scheduled- an annual free and live show coming to Brooklyn NY.
Kimmel announced a week ago that one of his guests would be Colbert. I requested tickets, haven't heard back.
So now... If that was ABC sponsored, is it off now?
I was thinking for a moment the two of them together with a huge audience could be the beginning of something new. An alliance? Movement? But if the event is now cancelled, it won't be televised! Will it be covered? Likely not by ABC! Or CBS. Sheesh!
Checking my ticket status
E-Ticket
COMING SOON
E-Ticket details for this event are not yet available. Please check back soon for the most up-to-date e-ticket information.
OK, next: checking ABC main website: No info. Have to go through audience services form to request tickets (for LA).
Last hope for info, with reluctance:
Dear Chat GPT (mm hmm?)
"What is the status of the live Jimmy Kimmel show scheduled for this week in Brooklyn?"
More Oh nooooos... "Hearing it here first" (sorry if I sniffle): it's over...
Holy #CancelCulture Spatman! It's over. No more real reality.

Hey everyone, I’m #newhere. I’m interested in #90s, #ack, #astrophysics, #authoritarianism, #awk, #blackholes, #confusion, #depression, #esperanto, #freethinker, #grep, #hiddenspaces, #indie-rock, #information, #informationdisparity, #informationethics, #institutionalpsychopathology, #kafka, #kony2012, #kuato, #kurtvonnegut, #librarian, #linux, #mathrock, #n24, #narrativedeterminism, #neutronstars, #newhere, #nihil, #nineties, #non24, #non24crd, #not-exercising, #okay, #oldhere, #pittsburgh, #pittsburghdiaspora, #podcasts, #polysics, #regex, #ruby-lang, and #sed.
This seems to be the last functional #diaspora server in the USA that is still accepting new users. I am grateful. My goal is to make connections with people by developing a large list of tags. I am interested in people's writing. I don't mind memes, so long as there is some accompanying commentary. I was a long time user of #livejournal in the deep past. It was not uncommon to make "friends" with people on livejournal due to shared common interests. This was in the period of 1999 to 2005. At some point, "social media" developed, and the #teleology shifted. It was no longer about Users using the software to create new associations based on common interests, but rather it became about the software recreating Users' IRL social networks online (and exploiting them). So, I have spent twenty years looking for a "social media" platform that is abstract, generic and sufficiently User-oriented to function in the "old-fashioned" way that the Web+RSS (often called web 2.0) was supposed to be. So I am attempting to do that here.
