Now most of these videos from Iran and aligned groups are a response IMO to the US's now 30yr approach to showing off their most successful strikes.

I think this particular US military video is interesting.

It shows likely an MQ-9 drone ($16M), probably firing a hellfire missile ($100k) at a fucking F4-Phantom ($3M)

And I want draw our attention back to a certain MQ-9 shotdown over Iran imo the value proposition of this video is not looking good.

The Iranians today released videos of them successfully shooting down an American MQ-9 Reaper drone.

There's been several videos posted by Iranian civilians of multiple aircraft being shot down around the country.

There continues to be evidence that Iran still has functional anti-air systems and that the US does not have air superiority in the county.

Title: Unequal Outcomes
Description: Nations with large gaps between rich and poor tend to have worse health statistics, more violence, and worse pollution than do more equal countries.

Plot graph comparing differences between 22 different countries. Y-axis is an index of health, social, and environmental problems. X-axis is income inequality. The United States is the greatest outlier, performing badly in both measures. At the opposite end are mostly Scandinavian countries.

This is a set of economic ideas that I hadn't heard about before. They seem unsettling but perfectly valid.

A profound reflection by @pluralistic: IPR (copyright) never worked for protecting people's privacy, nor for making sure creative workers are fairly compensated. This is because IPRs are tradeable, and the markets they are traded in are characterized by an extreme concentration of power. What does both jobs is NON-tradeable (inalienable) rights. In other words, we are back to the distinction between human rights (that work) and property rights (that don't). https://doctorow.medium.com/how-to-think-about-scraping-2db6f69a7e3d #economics

WATCH THIS VIDEO: If you STILL don’t understand how car-dependent suburbia (aka Sprawl) is HEAVILY SUBSIDIZED by downtown and all the urban parts of your city, watch this excellent video by @notjustbikes with UrbanThree & Strong Towns. And then please SHARE it as much as possible, especially with your local municipal leaders.

Does anybody know about #economics here? I ask because this article says we are moving towards a #global #hyperinflation.

I am aware that no one has a crystal ball to see the #future, but the article makes sense for an ignorant in the topic like me.

Adam Smith's "barter predates fiat money" doesn't hold historical nor anthropological scrutiny. Contemporary people asked about what system would replace money if it didn't exist overwhelmingly mention mutual aid. Money is not an inevitability. #economics
