Money is part of a larger class of things that are useless, but that people will exchange for something useful. Think about that.

It's a myth, by the way, that money replaced barter. Barter and money grew alongside each other. Extended families simply shared what they made or gathered. Money and barter were for strangers who didn't work with us and share with us. You needed exogamy, so you had to meet with strangers once in a while. Plus strangers might have traveled from somewhere that has resources that aren't found here. So money and barter are for trade, but trade doesn't need to be part of daily life. Just share the work and share the fruits of that work. To trade (buy and sell) with those you work with is to treat them as strangers, and not family.
