Before sunrise at Cwm Idwal. The mountains are covered with snow. The lake shimmers in the early light. Rocks in the foreground and mountains fill the background beyond the lake.
A chilly dawn at Cwm Idwal. Temperature in the minus something horrible!

The sun had not yet risen but a long exposure brought light to the scene.

I rode the Mount Washington Cog Railway in the state of New Hampshire, USA today.

This astonishing little train is capable to climb grades up to 37% (20 degrees) at speeds up to 5 mph (8 km/h) to Mt. Washington summit and back since 1866.
