Don’t try to open the door because you will just hit a wall. This shiny black car is actually just paint on a flat surface. The shadows make it look like it is ready for a Sunday drive. It is much easier to park than a real car.

This bus is definitely running late. It looks like a heavy piece of metal sitting in a room but it is just a clever drawing. Odeith used the corner of the room to create the 3D shape. Your brain might need a little nap after looking at this one.

I hope you brought some giant bug spray for this visit. This wasp looks like it is floating right in the middle of the air. The details on the wings are super impressive. Thankfully this big bug does not sting.

This is a very fancy way to decorate a wall. A delicate bird is having a little tea party in the middle of the room. The way the cup seems to hang in space is pure magic. It is a very peaceful piece of 3D art.

This beetle found a very round place to hang out. Odeith used the curve of the building to make the bug look even more real. It looks like it is about to crawl right off the roof. It is much bigger than any bug I want in my house.

This rooster is definitely the boss of this abandoned corner. The colors are so bright they really pop against the gray concrete. It looks like it is about to let out a very loud morning crow. You can almost feel the feathers.

This giant blue frog is having a serious staring contest. The glossy skin makes it look like it just hopped out of a pond. It is a very cool roommate for an empty room. Just don’t expect it to help with the chores.

This wasp loves the outdoors and mossy walls. The 3D effect is so good that you might want to step back a few feet. It blends perfectly with the real grass on the ground. Nature and art are a great team here.

“Odeith was born in 1976, in Damaia (Portugal). He held a spray can for the first time in the mid 1980’s. In the 90’s, when graffiti began its dissemination throughout Portugal and began to leave its Portuguese birthplace, Carcavelos, Odeith had his first contact with this movement. His first experiences were sketching on street walls and train tracks.
The passion he had always shown for drawing had found a new purpose and began to evolve. Soon after came the opportunity to paint large scale murals in Damaia, Carcavelos, and in many social housing neighborhoods, such as Cova da Moura, 6 de Maio and Santa Filomena.
Early on Odeith showed a special interest in perspective and shading. In an obscure style which he later called “sombre 3D”, the compositions, landscapes or portraits, messages or homages, stood out for their realism and technique…” Read more here

1. The White Rabbit Escapes — WD (Wild Drawing) in Patras, Greece
A woman in a red dress sits calmly on a giant spotted mushroom. Right above her, the White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland scrambles up the architecture, clutching his famous pocket watch. Swirling gold frames the scene, tricking the eye into believing the wall is actually a deep portal into a fantasy world. WD (Wild Drawing) painted this using the building’s natural shape to make the rabbit look like he is physically climbing out of the frame.

2. The Pouncing Tiger — SWEO & Nikita in El Berrón, Spain
A massive tiger rests its paws on what looks like a real painted frame, leaning out toward the street. SWEO and Nikita created this piece by carefully matching the shadows and colors to the actual balconies and windows surrounding it. The painted leaves cast fake shadows on the real wall, making the wild animal appear completely alive and ready to jump down onto the sidewalk.

3. The Ghost Train — Odeith in Portugal
Inside a forgotten, crumbling warehouse, a train seems to wait on non-existent tracks. Odeith painted this highly realistic locomotive right onto a flat, derelict wall. He added perfect artificial lighting and shadow effects to simulate the rounded metal of the train car. The graffiti tags on the side of the painted train add an extra layer of trickery to the whole scene.

A huge, hairless sphynx cat curls up comfortably on the side of an old industrial tank. Braga Last One painted the feline with such exact lighting that it looks fully three-dimensional. This sparked a passion for graffiti that led him to paint illegally on street walls and railway lines in and around Lisbon.
Odeith’s impressive evolution as an artist is due in part to his dedication to painting large-scale murals in various neighborhoods throughout Damaia, Carcavelos, and Amadora. Although he dropped out of school at the age of 15 and never received any formal art training, Odeith’s talent for drawing and his relentless self-taught approach to his craft led him to become the renowned artist he is today.
In 2003, Odeith adopted his current moniker, and by 2005, his innovative use of the anamorphosis technique began garnering international recognition. This “Somber 3D” style, as he later called it, involves painting on 90-degree corners or flat walls to create authentic, large-scale compositions of insects or objects that give a striking 3D optical illusion effect. Many of these works, painted in abandoned spaces, quickly went viral due to their realism and technique.
Odeith briefly lived in London after closing his tattoo shop in 2008, but he has since returned to Lisbon, where he now focuses exclusively on studio work and walls.
