Re-sharing because I was really surprised, does it happen often for artists to stop performing a song during a live show and just move on with their playlist?
Went to a The Midnight show in Brooklyn yesterday and two things things happened I had never experienced before:
- They performed a remix version of one of their song they didn't produce themselves.
- They started to play a song, stopped a few bars in on the singer's accord, and moved on with the playlist, never to play it again.The former was bittersweet, I enjoyed the nod to the remixing artists but I personally prefer the original version.
The latter was absolutely gobsmacking to me. Maybe I'm used to sharper shows that give less leeway to the artist?
