Ukrainian sea drone downs Russian fighter jet in 'world-first' strike
A #Russian #Su-30 fighter jet was destroyed by a #SeaDrone strike carried out by Ukraine's military intelligence, marking the first time a sea drone takes down a jet, Ukraine's military intelligence said on May 3.
The intelligence agency, HUR, said the unprecedented operation took place on May 2 near the Russian port of #Novorossiysk in the #BlackSea and published the #video of the strike. The strike was carried out by Group 13, a special unit within HUR, using a Magura sea drone equipped with a #missile warhead.

Exactly three years ago, in early March 2022, satellite images showed the first mass grave of civilians in Bucha, a town in the Kyiv region. Ukraine expects further F-16 deliveries from the Netherlands
Several countries have contributed #F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine's defense efforts, with the #Netherlands playing a significant role by committing 24 F-16s, the first batch of which arrived in summer 2024.

Russia fired cruise missiles Thursday at a western Ukraine city far from the front line of the war, killing at least five people in an apartment building in what officials said was the heaviest attack on civilian areas of Lviv since the Kremlin’s forces invaded the country last year.
