The mask ban works alongside a couple of other major changes to form a true firewall against federal overreach:

  • The Local Cops, Local Crimes Act: This completely cuts off local collusion. State and local police are now legally banned from helping with civil immigration enforcement.
  • Mandatory Identification Requirements: No more tactical mystery gear. Federal agents operating in New York must wear clear uniforms with highly visible agency badges and names.' ...

The list of prohibited items at Mamdani’s inauguration tomorrow includes…Raspberry Pi? 😅

For all the talk of inclusiveness I don’t think banning low-cost, single-board computers is a very friendly way to start his term. 🤨

I know it’s a long shot but I’m currently at the @404 Media anniversary party in Brooklyn, is there anyone else on here present as well?

Guy boarding the #NYC subway blasting music on a portable speaker: “As you are ignoring me, I’m ignoring you twice.”

He ended up lowering his volume and even striking up conversations with a few riders, which is utterly incomprehensible to me after the passive-aggressive start.

Slightly last minute, but a Decentralized Dance Party is announced in New York City #NYC this Wed June 22nd at 9PM.

DDPs have been my favorite parties for ten years now and I stand by it, come one come all!

I've boarded a crowded #NYC subway for the first time in two years, nature is healing. 🙏😌

Coming to the US from France, I’m culturally and personally in favor of labor unions and strikes, but I found my limits with police unions and the ongoing #NYC police, firefighter and sanitation worker vaccine mandate strikes. Neither are a public good.

Gonna be in #NYC for a week or so starting November 3rd if anyone wants to meet up!

I recently saw an article about the “hygiene theater” of surface disinfection now that we know it does little to prevent #COVID19 transmission. I can confirm it’s still raging in my #NYC subway car, with no less than four ads for products with no pandemic-relevant effectiveness.

More discoveries about my 6yo kid's #Google-provided #NYC School account: the Gmail account is set up with a whitelist of email addresses that can be addressed or received emails from. Well, only one so far, the Google Classroom email sender. 🤷‍♂️

This means I can't share with him the URL of his after school program on his Chromebook, neither by email or by sharing a calendar with him. 🙄

My team is #hiring a #QA Engineer in New York City, although we all are working remotely at the moment until further notice.

If you're interested please contact me directly as there's a referral bonus we can share if you are hired.

I remember we all laughed when Trump's administration branded New York City, Seattle and Portland as "anarchist jurisdictions". Well it isn't so funny anymore now that federal money is involved. #NYC

Given the heavy police deployment in Times Square ahead of the New Year’s Eve celebration in #NYC, I’d say it’s as good a time as ever to jaywalk in any other part of the city.
