#MeanwhileInRussia a lot of people are sceptical about getting vaccinated. There are reasons for this of course.

15 year old Nikita Uvarov was released from jail yesterday where he was "pre-detained" for 11 months for intention to blow up virtual Federal Security Service Building in computer game Minecraft. The case was dismissed.

A week before a political activist was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison for reposting Rammstein music video which court found "pornographic". The repost itself happened in 2014.

#MeanwhileInRussia, Saint-Petersburg: Police come to anime cosplay event, arrest about 20 teenagers.

They were detained for several hours on grounds of LGBT propaganda and some of the parents weren't allowed to their kids "because of pandemic restrictions".

Earlier this January #Russia banned certain #anime titles.

Here we go again: Russia slows down Twitter over 'banned content'

"Slowing down" is basically another word for blocking because it doesn't load on affected links at all. Of course this couldn't go on without major clusterfuck breaking tons of completely unrelated things as yesterday apparently their DLP systems blocked every domain matching "t.co" pattern. Like "microsoft.com" or "rt.com".

Fuckers...

Today is International Women's Day which is national holiday here.

In fact now it is more of "appreciation day" and some people hate it for this reason. I fail to see what is wrong with it though. Unlike "men's" counterpart February 23 which is heavily militarised because it is "Armed Forces Day" and just kind of extends to all men, March 8 is more causal and has lost the most of its political sense.

I don't think there is anything wrong with it either - I mean if you truly appreciate someone surely you stand for their rights and equality.

Tomorrow Moscow closes seven central subway stations in anticipation of "illegal" protests. Also parts of city centre will be blocked for pedestrian access and surface transit will be diverted. Cafes and malls in the area will be shut down. Various government agencies keep warning that anyone joining protest action will be considered participating in public disorder.

Interesting day is coming...
