Überleben in Gaza. Ein Berliner berichtet

Der Krieg im Nahen Osten dominiert die Nachrichten – und Abed Hassan aus Berlin gerät mitten hinein. Der Uhrmacher ist mit seiner Mutter nach #Gaza gereist, um die Familie zu besuchen. Doch dann steckte er unfreiwillig fest. Für "Tracks East“" nimmt er die die Situation um sich herum mit seinem Handy auf, bevor ihm nach über einem Monat endlich die Ausreise gelingt.

Der Berliner Abed Hassan, 27, erlebte den Krieg in Gaza. Anfang Oktober reiste er mit seiner Mutter nach Gaza Stadt, um seine palästinensische Verwandtschaft zu besuchen – beim Ausbruch des Kriegs zwischen #Israel und der #Hamas kam er nicht mehr heraus. Auf Social Media beginnt er, er seine Zeit in Gaza, die #Zerstörung um ihn herum, den #Verlust seiner Liebsten und den #Überlebenskampf zu dokumentieren. Seine Videos erreichen Millionen von Usern.
Fast fünf Wochen nach Kriegsbeginn konnte er über Rafah nach Ägypten ausreisen, inzwischen sind Abed und seine Mutter zurück in Berlin.
Tracks East hat ihn kurz nach der Ankunft in Berlin getroffen und sprach mit Abed über seine Erfahrungen, seine Flucht und seine Verwandten, die weiterhin in Gaza den Krieg erleben.

"Are They 'Hamas'?" 12,300 Children Killed by Israeli Forces in Gaza

Gruesome new data shows that kids make up around 43% of the death toll from Israel's assault on the #Gaza Strip.

Israeli forces have killed more than 12,300 Palestinian children in the Gaza Strip in just over four months, a staggering toll that’s likely to grow as the Netanyahu government ramps up its assault on and prepares to invade the overcrowded city of Rafah.

New figures that Gaza health authorities provided to The Associated Press show that children make up roughly 43% of the total death toll in the Palestinian enclave since October 7. Women and children combined account for three-quarters of the death toll, according to the new data.

“Are they ‘Hamas’?” Kenneth Roth, former executive director of Human Rights Watch, asked in response to the numbers, referring to Israel’s claim that it is targeting militants despite the massive and growing body of evidence to the contrary.

An Amnesty International report released Monday examining four recent Israeli airstrikes on Rafah. Amnesty said that “in all four attacks,” it did not find “any indication that the residential buildings hit could be considered legitimate military objectives or that people in the buildings were military targets.”

Bez 14 członków jawnie rasistowskich partii rząd Netanjahu (ani żaden inny) nie ma w Knesecie większości. Po 7 października politycy niemal wszystkich opcji w izraelskiej polityce wygłaszali rasistowskie poglądy, wielu z nich nawoływało do czystek w Gazie. Rząd, który prowadzi wojnę, opiera się jednak na ludziach, którzy z takimi poglądami nigdy się nie kryli, głosili je przez lata otwarcie, a w ostatnich wyborach zdobyli prawie 11 proc. głosów.

Taki klimat polityczny daje bardzo nikłe szanse na zmianę polityki Izraela wobec Gazy. Wojna będzie trwała, w Gazie dalej będą ginąć niewinni ludzie, a Strefa Gazy z dnia na dzień będzie stawała się coraz trudniejszym miejscem do życia.

Spora część izraelskiego społeczeństwa wciąż popiera wojnę i chce zemsty na społeczeństwie Gazy. Według sondażu Israeli Democracy Institute na koniec tygodniowego zawieszenia broni 87 proc. Izraelczyków popierało wznowienie walk.

Społeczeństwo palestyńskie na Zachodnim Brzegu na wojnę odpowiedziało natomiast radykalizacją. Najnowszy sondaż przeprowadzony przez zespół palestyńskiego profesora Chalila Szikakiego pokazuje, że poparcie dla Hamasu wzrosło prawie czterokrotnie – z 12 proc. we wrześniu 2023 do 44 proc. w grudniu 2023 roku. Znacznie wzrosło też poparcie dla walki zbrojnej jako środka do zyskania własnego państwa. To nie tylko wpływ wojny w Gazie. We wrześniu 2022 roku na Zachodnim Brzegu takie poparcie wyrażało 35 proc. badanych, ale we wrześniu 2023 to już 54 proc., a w grudniu 2023 – aż 68 proc. To też wynik rozczarowania polityką liderów Autonomii Palestyńskiej, uważanych za wspólników Izraela w okupacji. I narastającą przemocą ze strony osadników żydowskich na Zachodnim Brzegu. Wojna wzmogła frustrację.

Most of the freed hostages don't talk, however, some of the Thai workers who were also released, alongside Israeli and dual nationals, spoke in detail about the desperate conditions, beatings and random executions.

Out of 6 thai hostages 2 was killed in the beginning, the friend of the person was randomly chosen and shot in the head just next to them because the truck was full of hostages and there was no more place for a person to transport.

At the target are they were tied and moved into empty houses. Short after that the soldiers started hitting and kicking everyone, without any point. When they tried to say that they are thai they got a bit less of that but they kept hitting and kicking israely people for an hour.

They were moved again, and an both ends they were hit and kicked for a long time again. Arriving in the tunnel system (and after another long beating) they were moved in a windowless room, where they have been beaten for more 2-3 days, repeatedly. The israelis got a week more continuous beating, including being hit for hours by charged electrical wires. They got 2 pita as a day's ration and 2 bottles of water for all of the people. The thai people were moved in a different place after 3-4 days where the beatings were stopped and they got a little bit more food.

After about a month a leader-looking person told them that "thai go home", they were moved through a tunnel system, and finally given over to the Red Cross, after 50 days.

Some hostages are not even held by Hamas but various other smaller terrorist organisations.
