Look, we’ve been here before. My grandpa smoked two packs a day for most of my memory of him. Everyone did. Doctors literally prescribed cigarettes for stress. They said it was good for you. Made you look cool. Helped you lose weight. Whatever.
He felt fine until he didn’t.
That’s exactly what’s happening with COVID right now, and nobody wants to hear it. People are catching this thing two, three times a year and acting like it’s nothing. Just a cold. Just the sniffles. Meanwhile, their blood vessels are getting shredded. Their organs are taking hits. Their brains are leaking.
But sure, tell yourself it’s fine."

My wife is excited about a Fantasy Ball and now I'm looking for resources for customizing N95/p100 masks? Any good cosplay tips?
If you’re going to a talk at #FOSDEM by someone who is the sole maintainer of code you rely on, wear a mask! If you’re one of a small number of contributors to an open source project, wear a mask!
We talk about “bus numbers” but at an event without a public health pledge, your project should consider “COVID numbers”. Long COVID hits marathon runners, young people, vegetarians and meat eaters, people with the vaccines, etc.

Do you know what to do to protect yourself if someone in your household gets #covid ?
Plan now. There's a surge going on & if you're ready, you won't have to think too much. What I would do/have done:
1. #N95 on all in shared spaces
2. 15+ min w/window open between shared space usage
3. Air cleaners/ #CorsiRosenthal boxes
4. Stay/eat in bedroom
5. Towel rolled at bottom of door
6. Window cracked
7. Attached bathroom exhaust fan on
8. Mouthwash w/CPC
9. Return air closed
“When you see someone wearing an N95 mask indoors, please don’t assume they are scared, vulnerable or sick. They might just be doing their best to decrease the overall burden of respiratory illnesses in our community.
More people masking = fewer people sick, hospitalized, or dead.”
