Red Squirrel.

It was a change for me to watch a few of these in a deciduous woodland. They're so often photographed in pine or fir tree forests.

Made for rather autumnal colours behind the squirrel, as it sat on a stump, eating a nut.

Canon R7, RF100-500mm, f/7.1, 1/400th, ISO 3200 at 324mm.

Photography. Black and white photograph of a man with a bird of prey. In a barren desert landscape, a man sits on a high, rickety wooden bench. He can be seen from the side and is wearing an old black suit. The black man with short hair holds a scrawny, long wooden stick in his left hand and looks ahead. Desert sand swirls through the air. In the foreground, a giant bird of prey sits on the back of the bench with its head slightly bowed. Everything about this photo raises questions. The bench in the sandstorm, the quiet sitting of the two, the threatening looking bird, the stick of the man ..., in short a great photo with a special atmosphere.

Many can identify with life being challenging. Which brings to mind the 1.5 mile hike to Crabtree Falls in NC. Listed as easy/moderate. Rain the day earlier made the rocks slick & mud on trail difficult. The Fall foliage cradling the cascading waters was pure Zen. To all currently on life's difficult trail, may you find inner peace.

Many years ago a photographer loaned this cheap adapter to me, and I haven't given it back yet. When you pair it with a 20mm lens you get nearly a 180° FoV, which was a lot of fun back before the pandemic. I changed to mirrorless, and never got around to buying the cheap adapter to get it to fit to my new 20mm lens until now. I'm gonna try some waterfalls and flowers and see what I can do with it. #StreetPhotography #photography #fisheye #utrawide #ridonkulous

A new year-long project of photographing a large country park has begun. It's a daunting task as the area is rich in wildlife and flora, and includes several large reservoirs, so in sweltering heat I started small in one of the many meadows. Please click for full views.
