So here’s a bit of clutter that gets on my nerves: I disable images in my browser because images are mostly useless bandwidth-wasting clutter. But I am forced to enable images for #protonMail’s website because the CAPTCHA is otherwise dysfunctional (and likely dysfunctional for blind people too). But by enabling image rendering users are then hit with unwanted clutter. It harms people on capped measured rate connections. Please fix this.

In addition to πŸ”₯ self-destructing emails (https://proton.me/support/expiration), there are many ways to #declutter your #ProtonMail #inbox:

🏷️ Labels & folder
🎭 Aliases w/ #ProtonPass
πŸ—‘οΈ 30 days auto-delete Trash & Spam
πŸ›‘ Block sender
❌ One-click unsubscribe
πŸ•ΈοΈ Adjustable filters

What I really enjoy in @protonmail is self-destructing emails. You get a coupon code, you set it to self-destruct on the date of coupon expiry. Reducing inbox clutter. #Productivity #Privacy
Modal to self-destruct an email message with the datepicker.

As of today, you can access your encrypted #ProtonMail inbox and #ProtonCalendar on #Windows and #macOS without a browser or a third-party email app.

🐧 The #Linux app is also in the works.

Thanks to your initial feedback, these include improvements like:
πŸ—“οΈ Easier access to Proton Calendar
⏩ Easy migration from #Gmail
🚨 Notification badges
πŸ”  Improved accessibility and font support

and more!

All paid Proton subscribers can try out the beta today https://proton.me/support/mail-desktop-app

There's a Proton Mail logo on the top of the image. Underneath is the following text:
"Now in beta for paid Proton Mail plans". The text is followed by the logos of Microsoft Windows and Apple.
The screenshot of the Proton Mail macOS app. The mouse cursor is hovering over the calendar icon, and the tooltip saying "Open Calendar" appears above it.

so let me get this straight: @protonmail fucks with customers' eMails?
That's a huge no-go IMHO because that's just inexcuseable!

Not that I'd consider #ProtonMail at all but it's just a big red flag to me even if I were to use them, because if a provider is #paywalling #IMAP & #SMTP they should be better than any generic "#Freemailer" that doesn't.
Because that makes it useless for a lot of my tech stack: What's the point of an eMail provider if I can't use it with a #Zulip server?

@bitwarden I have set up the following in the event of my #death:
β€’ #Apple #iCloud Legacy Contact: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT212360
β€’ #Bitwarden Emergency Access: https://bitwarden.com/help/emergency-access/
β€’ #ProtonMail and #Proton services in general do not have a specific feature tailored to this, but I do have recovery information safely stored and available by other means.

I had set up #Facebook per their instructions, but I no longer see the option in my settings. I wonder what happened. https://facebook.com/help/991335594313139/

#ProtonMail has sent a demand to #Njalla for getting private user data, because someone wrote about them badly
