doing some visual design research on isometric tile-based games and came across this incredible screenshot from Celtic Tales: Balor of the Evil Eye

that entire screenshot was drawn with just *sixteen colours*

(click screenshot to view as razor sharp pixels)

A screenshot from a game. A modal dialogue shows an elderly bearded advisor saying "All voices are raised with thanks and high praise to the Goddess."

Above it: illustration of a man waving his hand over a bull as its handler stands by.

Below them is an isometric tile map showing a little island with trees surrounded by a sea.

Hey, lookit that, it's #portfolioDay again... only now exclusively on Mastodon instead of somewhere else! So hi, I'm Mike, a character designer / artist / illustrator / Art Director who mostly makes art for games (computer, mobile, and tabletop.) Most of this art wasn't made for games, though, just work I'm proud of.

(fwiw, I'm also looking for work.)

A cartoony alligator smiles in a friendly manner as he does a huge jump on his skateboard while many other animals of all different types look on approvingly. A cartoony picture of Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn from the movie 'Birds of Prey.' Harley is in a colorful costume and smiling while holding her signature giant mallet.
A witch's apprentice (she's human, with pink hair and glasses) recoils in horror as her cauldron explodes. A kindly old witch (she's a bear in a pointed hat and glasses) gives her some gentle advice. A cartoony woman holds up a giant gold trophy in a stadium while other characters - notably an alligator in a Hawaiian shirt and an arctic explorer - cheer her on.
