#ThisDayYearsAgo or more precisely one year ago I was in Rio de Janeiro. On that day we climbed Corcovado mountain, the one where Christ the Redeemer stands.

It was fun day. There are several ways to get up there but of course we chose the mountain trail. At the start of the trail there is a little booth with three armed policemen who take your details before they let you in - they started doing this after a few tourists got attacked on the trail. It is not like it is going to make you safer but at least if they find a body they can easily identify it. We met no bandits though - just two monkeys and a few other tourists who also thought climbing was much more fun than taking bus.
