Photography. Black and white photograph of a man with a bird of prey. In a barren desert landscape, a man sits on a high, rickety wooden bench. He can be seen from the side and is wearing an old black suit. The black man with short hair holds a scrawny, long wooden stick in his left hand and looks ahead. Desert sand swirls through the air. In the foreground, a giant bird of prey sits on the back of the bench with its head slightly bowed. Everything about this photo raises questions. The bench in the sandstorm, the quiet sitting of the two, the threatening looking bird, the stick of the man ..., in short a great photo with a special atmosphere.

A homeless man, probably in his late 60s with weathered skin, a white wild goatee with equally wild moustache. He is dressed in a black winter jacket, a black beanie, and his legs are covered in a black blanket while sitting cross-legged.Stuck in his left hand in his lap is a lit cigarette and a crumpled paper bag from a bakery. He's staring at his stretched out right arm where he's holding a piece of bread in his fist. A starling is feeding from that piece of bread while sitting on his sleeve. In front of the man is his begging beaker with another starling sitting on its rim, apparently staring at the bread and the first starling. To the left there are even more starlings, showing interest in the scenery.

!Friendica Support I also sometimes don't see pictures in posts, both from friendica and from mastodon. I do see them if I open the link to the original post.
I'm not sure but if I view the image on the original platform (mastodon/disapora), then it seems to be loading on friendica too. Can't reproduce consistently though, so I'm not sure

(for some reason I can't reshare that post: the preview in the post editor doesn't load, and if I click the button to send the post, it loads for a second and then does nothing)
