I realise more important things are happening, but I just finished a dress for my niece and am very happy about it.

A colour blocked white and deep purple dress (purple in the center, white at sides and sleeves), with a gathered skirt. Ties in the sides. Buttoned bodice at this side. The skirt has figures of women in colourful kimonos. Same dress showing the effect of the purple simple center when seen from the front. The white edges are less visible, making the darker part of the dress stand out.

I've just finished #sewing a quick pair of shorts to wear under summer skirts and

a) the sky has just darkened
b) I've realized that I should have taken pictures and published the pattern as #freeSoftWear

oh, well, if they fit well I'm going to make another pair in the same fabric, except *gasp* not-black, and they should be easier to photograph.

also, if they really work as an encouragement for rain, I'm up for making even more pairs :D
