I'm using #Helix https://helix-editor.com/ because it has great integration with language servers including rust-analyzer, but has completely different usage idioms. Other editors to try out would be #GnomeBuilder https://wiki.gnome.org/Apps/Builder or #Lapce https://lapce.dev/ - no idea about the current state though due to me not using them on a daily basis.

Using #Helix certainly boosted my productivity when developing in #RustLang. Used #NeoVim before but was unable to configure it such that it is as effective for me as Helix is out of the box.

Day 36 of #100DaysOfRust

Oh well, now I've moved on from "Hello, world!" in #development with #Rust to a simple form #web page. In that sense I've learned a lot, although very slowly, because I'm not mentally fit today. I still learn a lot every time I do the #RustLang. Well, then I'll configure the #Helix editor first so that I like it and it's easy for me to use 🧬🦀

I've been using #helix for several weeks now, migrated from #nvim and I'm not looking back. All the things I need and which are tedious to configure and maintain in nvim work just out of the box. You will still be missing some functionality that you know from CLion though, as far as I can judge from the outside. Proper rust-analyzer and (for me) clippy installation is a must though. Read and try the space popup functionality, it will help you a lot. Only https://github.com/helix-editor/helix/issues/1125 bugs me.

My CLion license expires in a week, and i won't be renewing it. This means it's time to switch to a new editor. I've been looking at #helix - written in #rust, nice modal interface, seems to want to do things "The Right Way(TM)".

Anyone care to share their experience?

Using #helix editor for some time now, and I really enjoy it. Sometimes I need to switch a lot between different git branches, and not being notified about changed files is the single significant drawback here. Looking forward to seeing https://github.com/helix-editor/helix/issues/1125 fixed some day.
