Hey, fellow #Mastodon (and #fediverse) #admins:
I am working on my book about the fedi and would like to get a sense of what it costs to run your server per month.
Anyone willing to share numbers? (Feel free to do it via DM if you don't want it public). Please let me know your instance and how much it costs.

der @Heiko Mischer hat ein Problem mit einer Abmahnung wegen Urheberrechtsverstoß, bei den Verstößen geht es um Inhalte, die in Friendica über /photos oder über die Suche gefunden wurden. Er hat einen Friendicaserver nur für sich und bräuchte:
- Eine Person die ihm technisch helfen kann, damit er herausfinden kann, ob die Inhalte ggf. nicht auf seinem Server lagen oder ob die Inhalte erst auf seinen Server geladen wurden durch die Suche nach eben diesen Inhalten.
- Freut er sich sicher über Tipps, gab es schon mal einen Fall wie diesen oder kann hier jemand gute Rechtsberatung empfehlen?
- Möchte er andere Admins warnen, dass diese sich bewusst sind, dass je nach Konfiguration fremd erstellte Inhalte öffentlich bereitgestellt werden.
Ich erwähne mal @Tobias weil er vielleicht etwas weiß, den @Michael Vogel weil er vielleicht technisch helfen/erklären kann.

Based on my recent poll (https://freeradical.zone/@privacat/109257047057581517), and the fact that these thoughts were going to percolate in my head until I dumped them out on paper, I decided to write a doc on #dataprotection and #privacy considerations for #fediverse #admins and #users.
It's mostly modeled after the #GDPR, but many of these considerations apply across other jurisdictions' #privacy laws.

Liebe Admins im #Fediverse. Mit den neuen Accounts, die von Twitter rüber kommen, steigt die Wahrscheinlichkeit, dass auch Werbe-Accounts eröffnet werden (und offenbar schon verwendet werden). Bevor Werbung zum allgemeinen Grundrauschen hier bei "uns" wird, doch noch die Fragen, ob "wir" das wirklich wollen? Gibt es in eueren Instanzen-Regeln darüber was zu lesen?
