This is correct, ceased is often used for machines that no longer move due to failure or rust πŸ™‚
@Obsidian Urbex Photography @Mensch, Marina Interesting, I'm used to "seized" for the same meaning, especially for engines, and it doesn't seem to be American-English specific.
