Write Freely is a writing platform on the Fediverse, sort of like a Fedi version of Medium.

It lets you write long form texts on the Fediverse, and people can follow your Write Freely account, so they see your latest posts.

The official site is at https://writefreely.org, you can also follow them at @writefreely

You can find instances to sign up on at https://writefreely.org/instances

There are apps available at https://writefreely.org/apps

If you are techy, there's instructions for self-hosting an instance at https://writefreely.org/start

If you aren't techy, you can still make your own Write Freely instance by using https://writefreely.host

Yes but while it is able to distribute articles on fediverse it cannot receive /display responses/comments. More like a blog+rss engine.
Yeah, I had to simplify a bit for the sake of clarity.

The posts from the Write Freely account can receive follows, comments, shares, likes etc, but these are only visible on the social posts.

The long text is displayed on a separate page by clicking on a link within the social post.

However, a single account ties together both the long text and social posts: the same account publishes both of these simultaneously.

With RSS you have no social interaction at all with the people who follow you.
What I mean is that on the WF interface reactions are invisible. People may talk about your post on the Fediverse but you will be oblivious about it. (You *cannot* have any interaction by using WF UI, just like RSS.)
Also the documentation is carefully avoiding this subject.
Yeah, that's a good point.

Indirectly though, if you look at a Write Freely account via Mastodon, the account's follows and posts are visible? For example @writefreely@blog.writefreely.org
@FediTips Last I recall, #writefreely was also available to self-host via #yunohost
or real self-host, like https://write.grin.hu/ (now invites only due to the egregious amounts of spambots)
