@cosocial I want to give a quick update on our work on #cosocialca.

I'm used to technological solutions to social problems, so I started out planning to file incorporation papers by EOD Friday and have a big server up by midnight.

Then everyone who needed to would sign up, and it would all work out, right?

Fortunately, cooler heads among the interested group prevailed.
We're talking to people from different interest groups across Canada. We want this co-operative to be led and designed by a broad coalition, and not just people who know how to build Docker containers.
That's taking time. It's taking some lessons in humility on my part; realizing I don't have all the answers.

And it's taking some patience.

That's not easy; we're watching warily as the #TwitterMigration grows.

But we've had some great contacts this weekend, and good people showing interest. I'm really hopeful.

Thanks to everyone who's expressing supportt. I think we plan to have more info and structure as the week progresses.

American Thanksgiving is a good week for Canadians to talk!
sounds about right. I was going to dive in and set up an instance, guns blazing. Then I started thinking through all the non-technical people parts and slowed down. Now trying to guage interest locally and seeing what support I might get, if any. I did go ahead register a domain, though, I think .social ones may go quickly :-)
nothing wrong with striking while the iron is hot! We'll get things spun up soon. Content is coming along nicely, I think.
