Daedalic games are hit or miss for me, but this time it's a good one. Obtained for free on Epic, Godlike Burger is a cooking and stealth simulation with rogue-like elements. Yes.
You run a space burger joint where local aliens come to eat. Your specialty? You only meat source is your own clients, which you will have to kill a portion to maintain your steak stocks.
To this end you have your trusty meat cleaver, of course, but you will be able to purchase traps at pre-defined spots in your restaurant for quieter and less messy murders.
Of course, you will inevitably get caught, either by the more belligerent aliens or the galactic police, and you will have to start over with an empty fridge. But you still keep all traps and upgrades you purchased so far.
The goal is to survive as long as possible, other planets are available with more varied clientele and events, once you complete their related quests. These quests are random and reset each time you die, which makes the difficulty to access some planet unequal across runs.
Bottom line is the kept upgrades make the game a little easier each new game, which is motivating to access the other planets that are way more demanding than the starter planet that you will quickly master. Aliens all have different tastes, and some are immune to some of your traps or even your cleaver, which makes the "meat acquisition" harder.
I've played 17h and only mastered the first two planets so far, but I'm still eager to visit the remaining 6 despite the slow restarts on the starter planet.
