This is your reminder that the "Fediverse" is NOT a single service. It is a collection of services.

While able to communicate with each other, each service has it's own distinct culture.

Sometimes, I may want to address the people on Mastodon singularly because I want to speak to it's specific culture.

If you feel excluded because I refer to a specific service, please remain calm and understand that just because I'm in a crowded room doesn't mean I have to address everyone in it.

Sorry, there's no such thing as "Mastodon culture". It's The Fediverse culture. If it weren't for the entire Fediverse there wouldn't be any Mastodon!

It's true because there are many Mastodon communities as well as other communities.

Some of those communities are so diverse that they don't even interact with each other.

So, you may have your Mastodon community but you don't have a single Mastodon community/ culture as there isn't a single Friendica community either. šŸ™ Would you be able to provide some traits that characterise that single universal Mastodon community?

I don't unfollow people because we disagree. I only unfollow people who are impolite, which I think is not the case. šŸ™

Hi! I think we all have many interesting things in common. Probably you misunderstood my point. Is it really necessary for you to go that way when I just said something respectfully to a fellow photographer? I'm one myself, an amateur. I've lived photography ever since I hadn't any gear.

When you came to the Fediverse, some of us had been here building it for more than one decade. We've welcomed you all. We don't profit from being here nor do people explore anyone's data. When you post something in the Fediverse, you're not interacting with people on a single platform. So, I think it would be more adequate to have that in mind, because that's what has enriched or lives since we came here.

This is not a war or something, it's a meeting place for everybody from all walks of life.

I've explained, on my other post, why there's no such thing as a Mastodon culture.

I'm sure Eugene would love that because his salary comes from that idea, which isn't true.
