Linux is free. Your freedom isn't worth extra performance, nor extra convenience.
@Emmanuel Florac indeed. i would totally choose linux over windows anytime
or the malware...
I left windows behind with Windows98SE 😀 20 years of 100% Linux.
@Emmanuel Florac cool. i used linux from 2005 to 2021.
Now on MacOS.. but I miss Linux. I'm honestly considering selling my M1 Mac and buy a PC with Linux 😁 but at the same time, the M1 processor is amazing.
@Emmanuel Florac
Yeah I know Asahi. Didn't take the time to give it a go yet. I think it's about time. I read they have been doing pretty well in getting M1 support on Linux.
Me too, @Emmanuel Florac 98 was the last for me. Unfortunately I had to keep using Windows at work until I retired eight years ago.
@Adam Hunt Hopefully Ubuntu will make an installer for the M1 😃 I like Ubuntu more than Arch 😃
Once Ubuntu starts using kernel 6.2 it should just install as "supported".
I am thinking that should happen in April with the release of Ubuntu 23.04.
@Adam Hunt
The question is whether Ubuntu will ship the drivers (such as graphics drivers) that the Asahi team developed for the M1
It all depends if they are in the kernel or separate and free or proprietary.
