Meta's #Facebook, #Instagram, and #Threads are down due to outages. However, #Fediverse instances of #Hubzilla, #Friendica, #Mastodon, #Misskey (family), #Pleroma (family), #Pixelfed, are up and running, with everyone in the #ActivityPub network continuing with our digital lives. ^_^

yes but they are completely unrelated. Mastodon is a microblogging service while facebook is not.

"what's threads"... I'm not even sure it exists in Europe. But yeah, it is, in theory. In practice I never heard anyone using it.

@grin Ahh! It is Instagram's answer to X/Twitter.

Threads is currently testing ActivityPub/Fediverse support. Many if their devs, and some personalities like @timothyjchambers ( @tchambers ) already have it activated.

As per Instagram's CEO, the Fediverse feature will be opt-in for Threads accounts. We'll probably see less than half of Threads community in the #fediverse.
