as a #leftist #activist and #contentcreator who has struggled for years with rampant #censorship, #banned and #suspended accounts, etc on mainstream platforms (always and only for the heinous unforgivable sin of "female-looking nipples"), places like Mastodon and peertube are the closest I can come to posting anything without having to share a platform with nazis, antivaxxers, etc (assuming I join am instance that defederates from servers that do).
yet it's hard not to be frustrated with how few users there are on these alternative platforms, how clunky and limited the #searchability is, and especially among recent #twitter converts, how little patience the average user has for scrolling chronologically rather than have algorithms decide what posts are "more important" (more likely to cause further engagement") and show them at the top.
I want to ask this question is everyone, but again, especially among #twittermigration accounts-
when you come across a post that has a content warning you have to expand to read the rest of, truthfully, how often do you expand it?
option clarification due to poll character limits-
TM: recent Twitter migrant, aka only started using the #fediverse in the last half-year or so
non-TM: someone who has regularly used the fediverse for more than a year
auto-expand: an option on some apps that will automatically expand any CW. I have this enabled on mine, though I wish it allowed turning off auto expand on certain filters--like expanding most posts, but NOT explicit porn by the various sex workers I follow on here 😅
please feel free to elaborate on your answer in a reply!
