#PSA If your account is dedicated to posting *someone else's nude photos*, and they haven't given you explicit permission, then you're being a shitty human and your account should be reported and suspended. No profit from stolen nudes.

#PSA - I recently stopped my windows based computer backing every document and photo to the #Cloud because fuck #Microsoft and their #LLM - I never asked for their fucking cloud storage in the first place. Or their LLM that they incorrectly call AI - it is not AI and canโ€™t even add up.

Anyway, as part of this process, Microsoft then automatically deleted all my files - *including* the versions on my own computer. Fuck Microsoft.

As it happens, I back up all my computer files on an external HardDisk on the first day of every month. As a result, I was able to copy the files and directories back to my computer with little disruption.

If you are going to disconnect from your cloud storage - be warned in advance โ€ฆ back up all your files and directories on an external Hard Disk first.

Hello Fediverse I want to make a short announcement about the https://social.trom.tf Friendica instance run by my friend @tio

Currently that instance is going through a big server migration process and it will take a couple of hours for it to get finished. So if you mention or send anyone messages during this time it might not reach them.

If you have a newsletter (or know someone who has one) on Substack, please pass this link on: soon they won't be able to port their paid subscriptions off to a different platform, because Apple will be handing the money. They must act ASAP to get off the Nazi propaganda platform to an alternative.

https://mail.bigdeskenergy.com/p/substack-just-killed-creator-economy

With Substack's latest launch, writers are actually ceding control of the billing relationship to Apple, which now owns and controls the subscription.
These transactions, subscriptions, and customers will no longer be accessible in their Stripe account.

(little diagram showing people/subscriptions linked to Substack, where Apple will set a 30% fee for handling payments, while Strip charges another 10% before paying the writer)

Most importantly, that means that if writers choose to leave Substack, they won't be able to port their paid subscriptions over to another platform like they could previously. This predatory platform lock-in is incredibly dangerous for writers. It strips away data and control, while locking them into the platform.

Gentle request.

Please don't drop fake stuff for the lols for April fools.

We all have enough mental bandwidth consumed filtering out active disinformation and innocent mistakes to add to the burden. In general they aren't funny and degrade many folks online experience.

Thanks for listening.

While this fake copy of my book has finally been taken down, I think it's important to remind y'all to be mindful of stolen or fake products!

Some are easier to spot than others, keep an eye out for: matching or consistent branding, correct product photos and details, correct author/username, matching description and title. Check for reviews too.

When in doubt--shop using links directly from the creator, or ask the creator if the link/product is legit!

#psa You should probably stop using Startpage.com as a search engine.

#Startpage appears to have sold out to a company called "System1" who are a "pay-per-click behavioral ad company"
